Pune is the ninth largest metropolis in India. It is situated 560 meters above sea level on the Deccan plateau at the confluence of the Mula and Mutha rivers. Pune was originally called as Punawadi. It was also called as the "monsoon capital" of the Bombay Presidency until the independence of India. Pune is the hub for educational institutions, information technology and automotive companies. Pune has an international airport at Lohegaon, operated by the Airports Authorities of India. It is well connected with roads and rails. Delhi, officially the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT) that includes the Indian capital New Delhi, is the second most populous metropolis in India, after Mumbai. Delhi is also believed to have been the site of Indraprastha, the legendary capital of the Pandavas during the times of the Mahabharata. It re-emerged into power after the rise of Delhi sultanates. It houses many ancient and medieval monuments, archeological sites and remains. Techinically a union territory , the National Capital Territory of Delhi has its own legislation just like a state in India. The Parliament, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Supreme Court of India is housed in New Delhi. Delhi is well connected with roads, railways and airways with all other states in India. One can travel by road from Pune to Delhi. The distance between Pune and Delhi is 1464 km. It takes about 20 hours and 40 minutes by road. One has to cover Pune - Mumbai - Ahmedabad - Jaipur - Delhi. Delhi is the capital of India and also of the National Capital territory of Delhi. It is the seat of the Government of India. Being under the rule of several rulers and dynasties, the city has a glorious past and rich cultural background. Delhi is marked with many ancient monuments like the Red Fort, India Gate, Qutub Minar and has bustling markets like Chandni Chowk and Connaught Place. Shirdi, known for the great Saint Guru Shirdi Sai Baba is located in the Rahata Tehsil of Ahmendnagar district in Maharashtra state. Known as the ‘Land of Sai', about 25000 pilgrims visits this temple daily. Every activity at Shirdi centre round the vast temple complex. Through Shirdi Sai Baba, this city has earned a significant place among the pilgrim centres of India. Shirdi is located at a distance of about 1267 km via Jaipur on the NH79 and 1235 km via Gwalior on the NH3, from Delhi. The distance is quite large and driving takes about twenty hours on both routes. Starting from Delhi you can drive via Jaipur, Chittaurgarh, Ratlam, Dhule and Manmad to reach Shirdi. Alternately one can also take the second route via Gwalior, Guna and Indore. Since the drive is long one, travel by car or bus can be tiring and really very uncomfortable. So if you are a driving enthusiast, it would be preferable to take a night rest stop at any of the hotels enroute the major cities. The best way to travel from Delhi to Shirdi is by train. Only few trains stop at the Shirdi railway station. The Nizamuddin Sainagar Special (04012) is a new train which runs directly from Delhi to Shirdi on Fridays and the journey takes a little more than a day. Alternately one can take a train from Delhi to Kopargaon which is the nearest major railway station at a distance of 15 km from Shirdi. Many trains connect New Delhi to Kopargaon like the Jhelum Express (11078), Goa Express (12780) and Karnataka Express (12628). The journey by train takes about 20 -21 hours and the cost of a 3rd AC ticket is about Rs 1200. From Kopargaon, one can take any of the public transport like buses, auto or taxi to reach Shirdi. Travel from Delhi to Shirdi by air directly is not possible as Shirdi does not have an airport. One has to take a flight from Delhi to Aurangabad, which is the nearest airport at a distance of about 125 km from Shirdi. The airfare is about Rs 3500 and the journey takes only about two hours. Bangalore is one of the best cities in India to live in terms of quality of life and personal safety standards. Personal safety ranking is measured on the basis of international relations, law enforcement, crime levels, and internal stability. Bangalore is called as The Garden City of India, because of the lush green space in the heart of the city. The city is more than a botanical garden says the residents.it is a rare city in which even new residents are proud enough to say they are Bangaloreans. Bangalore is also forward in education and IT sectors. The high exporting of IT products made Bangalore also address as the Silicon Valley of India. Travelling a few distances from Bangalore, one reaches Sagar. It is a city in Madhya Pradesh. The name Sagar actually came from Saugar, where Sau means 100 and Garh means forts. There are countless forts in Sagar. The natural beauty, varied culture and diversity, Sagar is handsomely created. Rahatgarh Waterfalls, Garhphra Mountains and Temples, and Khimlasa Forts are some of the attractions in Sagar. Even though tourism is not that wide in Sagar, these places have their own beauty. They also promote sports and various media networks. Sagar is situated only around 355 Km from Bangalore. Driving on the NH 5, one has to pass through Tumkur, Chikmagallur, Badravati, Shivamogi, before reaching Sagar. The average time taken for a road trip is around 07 hours and 30 minutes. When it comes to selecting the best mode of transport, we can directly say road is best mode of travelling. Choosing road as a mode of transport is a good option. There are many connecting buses from Bangalore to Sagar. Online booking and editing can be one. Its fare is around Rs. 330 to Rs. 370 private buses like Srs and Volvo respectively, according to the seats booked. It takes 7 hours for the journey. If one doesn't fancy travelling by bus, a private taxi would be another option which can easily cost Rs.2840 and upwards for one way. There is no airport in Sagar. Nearest Airport is in Bhopal, which is 180 km away from Sagar. Rail transport is also there, but there is no stop in Sagar city so one have go Bina, which is to travel one hour from town to get connecting trains to Bangalore and other cities. Hence air and rail transport are not suited for travel as they are not well connected between Bangalore and Sagar. Bhopal, capital of MadhyaPradesh State, is also the administrative headquarters of Bhopal district. Known as the 'City of lakes', Bhopal has many natural and artificial lakes. A city rich in heritage and history, Bhopal is famous for the Taj-ul-Masajid, Upper and Lower lakes, Bharat Bhavan Museum, Bhimbetka; the world heritage site for the oldest cave paintings and Sanchi; the Buddhist pilgrimage site is near to Bhopal. Mumbai, capital of Maharashtra state, is a conglomeration of seven islands which were joined to form the island of Bombay. This island was later joined with the island of Salsatte, to form what is today known as Mumbai. Bounded by the Arabian Sea on the west, Mumbai has many colonial era monuments like the Gateway of India, Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Municipal Corporation and Police headquarters. There are also many modern structures like the Marine Drive and Nehru Centre. Bhopal to Mumbai is well connected by road, rail and air routes. Mumbai is located at a distance of 777 km from Bhopal. From Bhopal one has to start on the SH18 and drive up to Indore via Dewas. From Indore take the NH3 or the Mumbai Agra Highway and drive via Sendhwa and Dhule to reach Nashik. From Nashik continue driving on the NH3 to reach Mumbai, crossing Igatpuri and Shahpur in between. Alternately, one can take the Bhopal- Indore- Burhanpur- Ahmednagar- Aurangabad- Pune- Mumbai route. The time taken for this journey on both routes is twelve hours. There are various facilities on this route for the convenience of the traveller. Petrol pumps, restaurants with good food, clean wash rooms, rest area are found on this highway at regular intervals. There are a few bus operators conducting Volvo AC service from Bhopal to Mumbai. The journey takes about 16 hours and the cost of a ticket is about Rs 1200. Alternately one can also hire a private taxi from Bhopal to Mumbai. But this can be quite expensive with the rental charges for a round trip starting from Rs 16000 upwards. The most economical and comfortable way to travel from Bhopal to Mumbai is by train as many trains connect these cities. The cost of an AC ticket is approximately Rs 900 and the journey takes only 13 to 14 hours. Some of the trains are Pushpak Express (12533), Mangala Lakshadweep Express (12618), Gorakhpur Mumbai Express (12541) and Kamayani Express (11072). The best way to travel from Bhopal to Mumbai is by air as the journey takes only 1 hour 35 minutes and the airfare ranges from Rs 4500 upwards. Many airlines conduct regular services on this sector. Marina beach, Anna square, Breezy beach are the varieties of beaches here. Chennai also have many historic churches, temples and mosques. There are many museums, art galleries, monuments and memorials here. Not too far from Chennai, lies Kanchivaram, or Kanchi, familiar to us as Kanchipuram. It is situated at the bank of Vegavathy. They possess many medieval temples with fabulous architecture. Hence it is a pilgrim centre for Hindus. Out of 108 Divyadesam temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, 14 are located here. Not only was that it once centre for Buddhists too. Now Kanchipuram is famous for hand woven silk sarees, one can get sarees at whole sale rate. So there are large employments for these workers. In the word Kanchi Ka means Brahma and anchi means worshiping Lord Vishnu. It is one of the seven holy cities of India. It is also called as golden city of thousand temples. Kanchipuram is situated only around 71 Km from Chennai. Driving on the NH 4, one has to pass through Ambattur before Kanchipuram. The average time taken for a road trip is around 1 hour and 30 minutes. When it comes to selecting the best mode of transport, one will be spoilt with choices. Transportation includes road and rails. Choosing rail as a mode of transport, there are quite a lot train connection to travel from Chennai to Kanchipuram. The total fare normally is around Rs.240 to Rs. 260 only, in local trains. In Cherai Express, departs from Chennai at 10.10 pm and reaches Kanchipuram at 12.33 am. Cheapest mode of transport to reach from Chennai to Kanchipuram may be by rails. It takes only 2 hours for the journey. Choosing road as a mode of transport is another good option. There are many connecting buses from Chennai to Kanchipuram. Chennai's Marina Beach is the second largest urban beach in the world and Guindy National Park is the only urban national park of India. Other major tourist attractions are Fort St George, Valluvar Kottam, Eliot's Beach, Kapaleswar Temple and Mamallapuram Temple among others. Kolkata the capital of the state of West Bengal lies on the east bank of Hooghly River. City with a population of around 4.5 million is administered by Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The black tea grown in the Darjeeling area is internationally recognised and ranks among the most popular of the black teas. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway connects the town with the plains and has one of the few steam locomotives still in service. Darjeeling is famous for its British-style public schools. Darjeeling attracts a lot of tourists from all over India and abroad. Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest peak is the most prominent mountain visible. In days clear of clouds, Nepal's Mount Everest is also visible. Gangtok is the capital and largest town of the Indian state of Sikkim. Gangtok has a population of people belonging to different ethnicities such as Indian-Nepalis, Lepcha and Bhutia. Nestled within higher peaks of Himalayas and enjoying a year-round mild temperature, Gangtok is the center of Sikkim's tourism industry. The precise meaning of Gangtok is unclear, though the most popular meaning is 'hill top'. They are Tapkeshwar temple, Malsi Deer Park, Kalanga monument, Laxman Siddh, Chandrabani, Guchhupani, Forest Research Institute, Tapovan, Santala Devi temple and Wadia Institute. Within Dehradun district lies Mussoorie, a hill station situated in the foothills of Garhwal Himalayan ranges also known as queen of hill stations. It has a natural walk known as Camel's back road. It has a shape of camel's hump. There is also a Gun hill. Company garden, full of flowers and plants are also very good attraction. Tourism is the major contribution of Mussoorie economically. Mussoorie has India's largest roller skating rink. Mussoorie got its name from mansoori, which means a shrub only in this place. Mussoorie is situated only around 29 Km from Dehradun. Driving on the Mussoorie road, one has to pass through Chironwali and Jakand before reaching Mussoorie. The average time taken for a road trip is around thirty seven minutes. When it comes to selecting the best mode of transport, one has only road as the choice. Transportation includes roads and also rails, but not that connected directly. The trip offers us a wonderful visual treat indeed of the Himalayan snow ranges and the Doon Valley, with Roorkee, Saharanpur and Haridwar to the South, creating an almost serene atmosphere for the tourists. Good Climate in Mussoorie makes it attractive for tourist as a holiday resort. Choosing road as a mode of transport is indeed best option. There are many connecting buses from Dehradun to Mussoorie; it may be on the way to Haridwar. Online booking and editing can be done. Its fare is around Rs. 100 to Rs. 150 and above, according to the seats booked. If one doesn't fancy travelling by bus, a private taxi would be another option which can easily cost Rs.4500 and upwards. This maybe a good option, when one is travelling with family. One can use own car for travelling, with adjustment in mode of car used. But as Mussoorie is a hill station, there is no petrol pumps on the way. Mussoorie doesn't have railway station. The three seats of power namely the Indian Parliament, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Indian Supreme Court are located here. Other tourist attractions include India Gate, QutubMinar, AksharDham, Red Fort and Jantar Mantar. Delhi owns a well maintained Metro Rail system. Delhi is well connected to Mumbai by road, rail and air. Mumbai is the capital of the state of Maharashtra with a population of around 20 million. It is called the commercial capital of India as many important financial institutions like Reserve Bank of India, National Stock Exchange, Mumbai Stock Exchange and SEBI, besides corporate head offices of many Indian and Multi-national companies are located here. Mumbai is an important tourist destination with attractions like film city, Juhu and Chaupathi beaches, Mahalaxmi and Sidhivinayak temples and the Elephanta Island among others. Delhi is connected to other Indian cities through five National Highways namely NH 1, 2, 8, 17 and 24. Five Highways pass through Mumbai - NH2,3,4, 8,17and222. Western Express, Eastern Express and Sion-Panvel Highways connect to neighbouring cities. There are many road routes to travel to Mumbai. If one prefers Mumbai-Agra Road (NH3) the distance comes to 1433 km and can be covered in 20 hours depending on road condition and traffic. Take NH2 from Delhi (192 km) to be on NH3 (85 km), take State Highway SH2 (25.1 km) and be back on NH3(500 km). Take Mhow bypass (61.7 km), NH3 again (266 km), Malegaon bypass (11.4 km), NH3 again (270 km) and on to Dr Ambedkar road in Mumbai. Alternate route via Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Western Express Highway is 1441 km long. Private buses are available to travel from Delhi to Mumbai, the approximate fares being Rs 4100/- for a Volvo a/c sleeper and Rs 3200/- for a/c sitting. Delhi to Mumbai rail line is one of the busiest rail routes in India. Delhi has three stations for long distance trains, Delhi Junction, New Delhi Station and Nizamuddin station. There are 27 direct express and superfast trains connecting Delhi to Mumbai. The distance of 1330 km is covered in 22 to 25 hours on an average. The fastest one Delhi-Mumbai Swaraj express covers the distance in 15 hours 50 minutes. Travel by air from Delhi to Mumbai is not very costly when compared to other modes. Go Air, Indigo airlines, Jet airlines, Spicejet, Jetlite and Air India operate flights from Delhi to Mumbai. Economy class fares range from Rs 3235/- to Rs 5215/-. Now the apt name is Silicon Valley of India, as it is the major center for IT industry and outsourcing. The other synonym for Bengaluru is IT capital of India and Pub city. There are a number of shopping Mall and Bazaars here. Bangalore offers high standards of living. It is proud for even new visitor to address themselves as Bangaloreans. Not too far from Bangalore lies Tirupati. It is located in Chittur district in Andhra Pradesh. It is a major pilgrimage and cultural city. Tirupati is famous for being the wealthiest temple Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Hindus believe that by worshiping Lord Venkateswara they get mukthi in Kali Yuga. Lord Venkateswara is called Lord of Seven Hills. Tirupati have many other temples too. It is famous for red wooden toys, brass idols and copper. It is a major educational hub in the state. Driving on the NH 4, NH 69 and SH 35, one has to pass through Krishnarajapura and Chitttur before reaching Tirupati. The average time taken for a road trip is around 4 hours and 10 minutes.
