Shirdi, a small town in Maharashtra, is famous worldwide for its association with the great Indian Saint, Shirdi Sai Baba. Situated in the Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra, Shirdi is also known as the 'Land of Sai'. The Shirdi temple complex which is the main attraction of Shirdi is spread over an area of about 200 square meters. Maruti Temple and Shani Temple, constructed under the supervision of Shirdi Sai Baba, are the other places of attraction in Shirdi. Maruti Mandir is considered being a favourite place of Sai Baba, who used to conduct satsangs here on a regular basis. Delhi, the capital of India, is situated by the Yamuna River. Delhi has its historical importance for the fact that it has been the seat of the Mughal Empire for many years. Dotted with tombs, forts and monuments, apart from its historical importance, Delhi also happens to be the political hub of India, serving as the centre of the Government of India. The city was planned by the British architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens, thus giving the name 'Lutyens' Delhi. The distance from Delhi to Shirdi is 1250 km. The fastest way to cover the distance is to fly from Delhi to Shirdi. Shirdi does not have an airport, but one can take a flight to Nashik, the airport closest to Shirdi, from Delhi. This is not the best way to travel from Shirdi to Delhi, as only a single air line operates in this route. Though there are no direct trains connecting Delhi and Shirdi, one can travel from Delhi to Shirdi via Kopargaon or Manmad. These two stations are 14 and 55 km, respectively, from Shirdi with direct train connections from either the New Delhi railway station or the Nizamudin railway station in Delhi. Some trains from Delhi to Shirdi via Manmad or Kopargaon are Punjab Mail (12137), Swarna Jayanthi (12643), Nizamuddin Kolhapur Express (12148), Nizamuddin Pune Super Express (12264), Mangla Lakshadweep Express (12618), Jhelum Express (11077), Amritsar Nanded Express (12716), Goa Express (12779), Amritsar Dadar Express (11058) and Karnataka Express (12628). From Manmad and Kopargaon, taxis, buses and a few passenger trains are available to Shirdi. Driving down from Delhi to Shirdi is also an option. You can cover the distance, ideally spread over two days, and it takes an average time of 18 to 20 driving hours. Interstate buses are also available from the ISBT Delhi to Shirdi, conveniently plying overnight. More comfortable private A/C and non A/C buses are available from Delhi to Shirdi and may cost Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 per head, depending on the type of bus and seat selected. Another option is to hire taxi from Delhi to Shirdi which will cost about Rs 10,000. There is no problem to come back from Shirdi to Delhi. Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra, which is also commonly referred to as the financial capital of the country, is one of the most important metros of India. As such, Mumbai is well connected with all important cities of the world, and especially other Indian cities like New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore among others. Bangalore, the IT capital of India is also one of the most sought after tourist destinations of the country. It presents a beautiful amalgamation of past heritage with contemporary lifestyle. Replete with natural attractions, gardens and other historic sites, Bangalore charms its way into the heart of its visitors. Bangalore also enjoys good connectivity with all parts of the world in general and important cities of the country in particular. Muslim monuments in the city are the tombs of Ahmed Shah and his queens, Ahmed Shah's Mosque, Jama Masjid, Mosque of Sidi Sayid, Teen Darwaza or Triple Gateway, Rani Rupmati Mosque and Jhulta Minara.
