Australia's Aborigines    Submitted as: Jeni stevens
The wilderness grew dark as embers burst wildly from the fire. The Aborigine’s faces were visible only by the light from the fire’s glow. The deep voice echoed across the desert floor as the oldest Aborigine began his tail of Uluru. I’d always seen the massive rock, Uluru, in advertisements for Australia and now I sat only feet away. Surrounded by the oldest living culture on earth, I heard the legend of the Uluru straight from its own people.(read entire article)

Exploring North America    Submitted as: Jeni stevens
As I swung back and forth on the old wooden porch swing, I daydreamed of leaving home and traveling the world. Europe was my main destination. My grandpa sat next to me as I rattled on about seeing Rome. Quietly taking it all in, he finally looked at me and said “Be careful not to go looking for something that can be found in your own backyard.” Although I didn’t quite pick up on his meaning at that young age, I now understand what he was trying to say.(read entire article)

Traveling Alone?    Submitted as: Jeni Stevens
“Umm…yes.” I hastily took the bag of peanuts from the nosy airline attendant and ripped the corner off. Sure, I was on a business trip, but that didn’t mean I was there just to work. I wasn’t thrilled at the prospect of being cooped up in my hotel suite for 5 days straight, alone. It was my first time to New York and I desperately wanted to see the sites on my down time. There had to be someone in this vast city I could network with.(read entire article)

Hitting The Powder    Submitted as: jeni stevens
My Blackberry vibrated in my pocket and I quietly slipped it out to see who was after me. An urgent alert flashed across my screen stating my flight was delayed. Sighing, I slouched down in the backseat of the cab. Overanxious to get my ski weekend started, I had left for the airport unreasonably early. Leaning forward to tell the cab driver to turn around, my Blackberry signaled once again. Another message from WorldMate (I love this stuff!), this time including welcoming information that another flight was taking off in 40 minutes.(read entire article)
