The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the largest board in India with 18,000 affiliated to it, has plans to set up book lockers as mandatory, when it makes its new affiliation bylaws. By installing lockers in schools, the students can deposit the books and make their lives a little easier. The backpack culture has telling effects on the health of the children as many of them were reported to have developed back aches, as they carry bag packs with heavy books in it.(read
