The dictionary should list “brawl” as being synonymous with “ice hockey.”
As we know, hockey games are notorious for their brawls on the ice. In fact, Wikipedia says, “Fighting in ice hockey is an established tradition of the sport in North America…” Great.
The latest fight was a doozie. Saturday night the Grand Rapids Griffins got into a major brawl with the Rockford Ice Hogs.
Of course it started with 2 players going at it, this time Grand Rapids' Riley Sheahan and Rockford's Kyle Beach. This sparked a free for all that cleared the benches. It was total mayhem.
There were so many fights happening at the same time it was ridiculous.
Several times the fighting died down, then it flared up again. The fighting continued for nearly a full 3 minutes. They put on quite a show, albeit not a show of good sportsmanship.
It's hard to believe these are grown men.(read
