These knives come in various styles. Although, any knife can be thrown at a target, but it boils down to the easiness of throwing one. Generally speaking a knife used for throwing is made of a steel without a handle and it has two parts. A front edge that is sharpened and the back blade which is non-sharpened for the thrower to carry the blade. The purpose of the grip is to allow the thrower to balance the blade and safely handle it.
