In fact visitors should allow at least a couple of hours to explore the many great exhibits this museum has to offer and hear the stories it has to tell. The story of America is one of immigration and the search for a better life, and the exhibits at Ellis Island make that fact very clear. The museum also tells stories of the waves of anti-immigrant hysteria that have gripped the nation from time to time, helping to put our own modern immigration struggles into a new historical light. No matter what their opinions and personal experiences may be, visitors will come away from Ellis Island with new knowledge and new things to think about.

... Statue of Liberty are spectacular as the ferry pulls up to the dock, and once there visitors are free to explore this historic landmark at their leisure. Ever since it first arrived from France the Statue of Liberty has been welcoming visitors from around the world, providing hope and inspiration to countless generations. These days the statue serves a more symbolic purpose, but its power is just as real. No first time visitor to New York City can afford to miss out on a trip to the Statue of Liberty, and even many repeat visitors find themselves returning to this iconic location again and again.
Getting to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from anywhere in Manhattan is easy. Several different subway lines have stops within walking distance of Battery Park, the jumping off point for the ferries that serve the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Many city buses also go right to the park, as do a number of commercial tour bus services throughout the city. Visitors should bring plenty of patience, however, since the security lines can be long, especially during the busy summer months. Even so the long lines and the wait will be worthwhile when you catch your first glimpse of this New York landmark.
