The first few years that I got on to the WWW I spent a pretty large fortune on Ebooks and ways to get rich. 10 years later I am a little bit more frugal than I used to be. I also have discovered that a lot of the things I used to pay for are now being given away with these giveaways that most Internet marketers participate in.

When I first got on the Internet I had heard how a lot of people were getting rich overnight so this is what I was looking for a way to get rich quick. I read through entirely some of the emails I had in my inbox and thought "hey, these guys are doing it so why not me" I got into sending bulk email, posting free ads on FFA's, and blatant Spam. I invested money into all these supposed books that would tell me exactly how i could make my fortune on the net while working at my kitchen table in my underwear and only having to log into my Paypal to see how much money I made the night before.

None of this crap worked for me, what was I doing wrong? I spent the next few years buying into all these ebooks and so called get rich opportunities but nothing was working for me. I had spent thousands ...
... of dollars and in the end I was further in debt than I had ever been before. A lot of the newbies that are getting on the net today fall into the same category. They are looking for a way to get rich quick so they can give up their day jobs.

These are the people who are falling victim to these Nigerian Scams and these so called emails telling them they won the African Lotto. This is why America has such an immigration problem, people only hear about how much money can be made on the net or how good life in America can be, they never hear the truth either that or they are incorporating selective hearing. They don't see the truth until after it is too late, after they have spent a fortune on the net

Everybody thinks the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. When they first start surfing the net they are looking for a way to get rich quick. I have been there and done it all. The only way you will make anything is to use only tried and true methods like establishing a business. There are no shortcuts unless you are one of these people who can hold their breath until they win the lotto. The chances that you will make a million overnight on the net are far less than actually winning the lotto. To make a good income on the net takes a commitment of hard work and long hours.

These days there are a lot of resources for newbies that have reviews of all the programs that are on the net. One place that I recently discovered where the reviews are by users of the programs was that of a site called ratingshub. There is also the Bad Business Bureau.

In a nutshell if you want to make good money online you need a list of potential buyers. Not a list of freebie seekers. You can try PPC but unless you profit margins are high and that you are getting more than 1 sale out of 50 visitors then don't hold your breath.. Now you may be able to bypass the art of owning a list with some of these free classified site that are prevalent on the WWW but trust me on this if this is what you intend on doing you will be placing a ton of free ads.

In Building a good list there are only a few ways that work best, there are also several list building ideas that I say to stay away from.. Some Internet marketers will try to get you to put some source code on your web site but unless you are getting millions of visitors per month this code will never do anything positive for you.

You both want and need a good site. Lately I have been seeing a lot of marketers going for review sites and this seems to be the niche these days. Consumers , before making a final decision on something are researching review sites on this item.

Building a good quality list is going to take some time. I was always looking for a shortcut with this but believe me there really aren't any. Now first we need to capture all site visitors. You need to put a form on your site that asks for visitors names and email address.. To get a form thats already created for you we need to look at autoresponders.

Autoresponders have several functions which you should be made aware of. An autoresponder not only gives you a form to get visitors to fill out when they visit but it can also follow up with everybody on your mailing list. Most autoresponder services will have emails for you to send to your customer. Others will only have templates for you to use but sign up for 10 marketers lists and see what autoresponder service they are using.

The best days for you to send emails out to your list is on Mondays and Tuesdays. These days have the highest open rates. A shortcut that I once tried that you may wish to try is buying bulk email addresses. The problem with this is that there are a lot of individuals and companies out there that will sell you complete junk. If you are going to buy emails make sure that you are only getting double opt in or triple opt in leads. Single opt in leads are total junk and a waste of your hard earned money.

The response rate with leads are very low. Sending out to a double opt in list of 10k you might get 10 people who will stay on your list. A good autoresponder service is going to cost you at least $25 per month. Some of these services will charge you the entire amount for 6 months or a year right away.

For the visitor to fill out the form you may have a gift of either a report or an ebook offered in return for them filling out your form. These days because of PLR you can rename a PLR report or Ebook or even a video without having to worry about putting your link on the gift along with many others. When I first looked at Internet marketing there was no PLR or MRR products. These days there are web sites offering tons of this kind of product.

A good quality list is going to take you anywhere from a year or longer to build. A good list that will allow you to make a good income is about 10,000. Some Internet marketers have lists of over 100k but when they first started out I bet there list were a lot smaller..

If you want to build a good quality list there are several different ways you can go. The organic rankings you get in the search engines will always be number 1 as far as quality goes. You have a site, right. So let's think about what we can add to your site to make it unique What about a specialized game or puzzle? What about a forum that discusses a particular niche?

The first way to turbo charge your listbuilding is with JV's. (Joint Venture's) You are a newbie so everybody you JV with is pretty much a lot more experienced than you. I love finding out about new techniques and other trivial things. I have a habit of always asking a lot of questions. I prefer to talk to a person rather than just email back and forth.

In a nutshell a JV is when you find another marketer who has a list of subscribers and you ask them to do a JV with you. Your offer will then be sent to your partners list while your partners offer will be sent to your list. Are you just starting out and not have a list? Well you are going to have to do a little work here.

If you don't have a list you are going to need to start posting on forums and advertising on free ad sites. To find forums go to Google and type whatever specialty you partner uses and follow this by a comma the plus sign and the word forum. Knitting,+forum.
You can do this for any specialty or talent. One marketer showed me how to use DMOZ to do this with.

Now with free classified sites you need to create ads that will get attention. I have been saving every email I get to just this. If you are still unsure then look at some books on copywriting or maybe use your local library for this. A lot of marketers that you subscribe to will tell you that if you want to JV with them then use this special email address.

Now before we proceed I need to give you a word to the wise. A lot of Internet marketers are doing other things in their lives beside IM. In a nutshell you will need to have a template ready of a sales letter your partner can send to his or her list. Also, it is a good idea to have a template landing page for your partner . Besides the landing page a oto for you would be good where you are offering a product at a special low ball price. Besides all this you need a final delivery page for your partner.

Now most giveaways when you are first signing up will offer to you that for a small fee you will not have to do anything as far as promotion. If you have the money and you are a newbie do this option. The only negative I see about giveaways is most of the list you will get is going to be a lot of people who just look for freebies. Now the third method of building your list faster is by being a contributor in a firesale event. This is basically the same as above except instead of giving everything away for free it is being sold at a low price because of circumstances. Also I'd like to point out that the negative I stated with giveaways is not a factor at all with firesales.

As a final piece of information I have a great tip for people shopping for a new computer. Mine stopped working a few months ago and I bought a used replacement on Craigslist. This computer failed my success because it turns out it was only a celeron but on the outside of the case it did not say celeron anywhere.

The computer that I had to replace was only a 2.188 gigahertz system and I definitely did not want a slower computer. Originally I was going to buy a barebones system from Tigerdirect which would have cost $199 plus tax and shipping so at the last minute I visited ComputerGeeks. I found a great refurbished system at Geeks which only had a price tag of $52 but because of me snoozing for 24 hours it was sold out when I went to buy that computer.

Finally, I found a system that was $149 that was almost complete. I would have had to upgrade the ram since it only had 512k installed but it was a P4 2.7 Gigahertz. I had no plans to go back to TigerDirect except that I heard they were offering Free shipping. At the last minute I went back to Tiger and I found a P4 3.0 GigHz for only $149 plus free shipping.
