It might also require separation process to remove these microbes from the treated water before trashing it into the drains or to the next process.
Tertiary Treatment - The final process of the treatment involves a further aerobic stage along with oxygen depletion stage to reduce the presence of nitrogen and phosphorous. It also includes a disinfectant process using the UV light, chlorination, or ozone treatment. This is helpful at removing bacteria and viruses effectively.

After all these processes, the waste water is dumped finally into the water bodies or drains with almost no chances of severe diseases.
