The latest announcement from HP reminds of 101,000 laptop PC batteries on 41,000 batteries recalled in June 2016. It was discovered that the batteries were being overheated due to the presence of a lithium ion battery containing Panasonic cells.
The Consumer Product Safety has detected that some ...

The batteries compatible with HP, Compaq, HP Pro Book, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario and HP Pavilion laptop computers. HP increased the number of recalls for the batteries of laptop computers sold between March 2013 and October 2016.

The HP laptop battery and model number are printed on the battery. The batteries in this extended call have barcodes starting with 6BZLU, 6CGFK, 6CGFQ, 6CZMB, 6DEMA, 6DEMH, 6DGAL and 6EBVA.
HP recommends that users refer to the company for removal and replacement of their spare laptop batteries. In the meantime, consumers can connect their devices directly to the AC power while a HP battery replacement is in progress.
HP Repairs are urging customers to check their batteries again, even if they have been told they have done it before and are not affected. Customers should immediately stop using the affected batteries. Affected HP customers are entitled to a free replacement battery for each affected, verified battery.
