Types Of Bunk Beds
This is probably the commonest type of bunk bed and is usually found in prison cells, dormitories and several other places that are looking to economize the space allocated for the bed. This bed involves having two mattresses of the same size stacked up one just on top of the other. It can be equated to having two beds of the same size stacked up, one above the other and then the beds getting re-enforced together. This kind of bed is made with no consideration for the difference in sizes between the people who might end up using the two different beds therefore a general size is made for all.
The Twin over Full Bed
This is a type of standard bunk bed that is designed with consideration for sizes of people. With this kind of bed, two beds of varying sizes are stacked up one over the other. Most times, the lower bunk will take a full size mattress while the upper bunk will take a twin size mattress. This kind of bed is mostly suitable in situations where you might have two children with one being slightly older and probably bigger than the other. A Futon Bed
This is a special kind of bunk bed that involves a standard bunk but with the lower bunk having the western style futon couch. This couch usually changes into a bed and not just an ordinary mattress. This kind of bed is particularly important for people who are looking to save space in small apartments or in small spaces. This bed is appropriate because during the day, you can have the lower bunk being used as a couch and at night it can be converted into a bed.
The Loft Bed
This type of bed has just the top bunk. Under the top bunk, there is no other bed or bunk for that matter but rather open space that can be used for anything from storing a drawer, a chest or for creating some kind of space for other activity. This type of bed is particularly suited for people who are looking to have the little spaces utilized fully other than having this space go to waste. There are even some beds of this kind that have storage capacity that is inbuilt. The upper bunkers are however designed with some safety measures to make sure that whoever is on the upper two bunks does not fall out and get injured or harmed.
This is simply a type of bunk bed that has up to three bunks. As earlier mentioned, people who are looking to have as little space used up by the bed as possible will opt to have these cheap kids bunk bed with storage and cheap twin bunk bed with desk with more bunks just to ensure that less space is used.
