MS Word can be concluded to be the most used application than any other. There is a lot of important corporate information tied up inside Word documents in your organizations. However, at times Word documents might cause a little problem. But to recover information from a Word document that would not open, follow the steps given below:
Why the doc might not open?
Documents might fail to open due to permission problems or file sharing problems in a networked environment. Whether networked or stand-alone, documents might fail to open as the data file it is corrupt or may be because the file is being loaded from a damaged floppy disk. Data can be easily got out of Word documents with repair word tips so stay calm and don't panic.
Examine networking issues
Microsoft Word locks data files on a network preventing them from being edited by more than one person at a time in a networked environment. This restricts users from simultaneously editing a file, as this can often create confusion and data loss. When a user tries to open a file on the network and the file ...
... is locked, Word will display a dialog box informing the user that there is another user working on the same file. So, either the user can wait until the current user exits the file, or they can open a copy of the file to make changes. The user can then save the changes in a different file.
At times, users don't like to open identical files and person holding the file open may have gone home for the day. If the users are extremely persistent in opening that particular file, they can force the original user off the network, thereby closing the file. Obviously, this will cause the former user to lose whatever changes he made to the file so you need to use this power cautiously.
Other network problems that might prevent a file from being opened can be the rights a user has on a particular shared file. This should not be a problem, especially when a user has opened the data file on the same share where the file was created. Although, if directories have been copied from one server to another or different permissions have been sought out for either a group or user level, things can be messy to the point where user can see the file but cannot access it properly. So check the user permissions and share permissions to ensure that there is no change as such.
Try opening different document or opening the document on another workstation
If a Word document won't open, that doesn't mean that there something wrong with that document. Probably there might be something wrong with the workstation or the version of Word on the workstation. Try opening other Word documents on the workstation. If these open on the workstation, you've got bigger issues to deal with that Word document. If the files do not open, you have problem with the application may be, so try opening the document on other workstation.
In case of corruption or data loss, always rely on Kernel for Word. It can easily repair Word and bring back data from highly corrupt Word files. So don't panic about losing data, just stick to this repair Word software and you'll surely get your important data back.
