Native, Web Or Hybrid App – What Mobile Apps Development Company In Uk Says
Laptop had spoiled the market of desktop several years ago and now smartphones has joined the race. Hundreds of brands have jumped in the bandwagon to manufacture feature-packed smartphones targeting the billions of users. But, the popularity of OS differs from country to country depending upon their financial condition. While Android and Windows are popular in the developing countries, iPhone is the first choice for the citizens of developed countries. However, none has monopoly market in any country which makes the business owners confused. They can’t make out a plan about which platform should they target to develop their mobile app, says a mobile apps development company in UK.
Thanks to the technology developers who have now offered you several options to minimize your cost and serve the purpose perfectly. Yes, you can go for three basic methods – native app, web app and hybrid app. But, what are the basic difference between these three? What are the pros and cons? Well, let’s gather some fundamental knowledge.
Native App
As the name suggests, ...
... native apps are developed targeting a particular platform, say Android, iOS, Windows etc. They use particular technology to write the codes and the final product works on mobiles of that platform only. The advantage of native apps are they are highly feature packed and flexible as you can utilize every function of the OS to its fullest. Often they can be a bit faster and more reliable as well; however, that may not be a strong reason to stick to native mobile app. On the contrary, when it comes to cons, we focus on only one point – it’s not cost effective. You have to develop different apps for different platforms and your budget would increase proportionally.
Web App
Simply put, this is one kind of website designed like an app targeting various mobile screen size. So, it doesn’t require any explanation that it would work on smartphones of any operating system, neither you have to install it on your mobile. So, you can save the users’ disk space as well. Mostly they are very fast, reliable, simpler to develop and of course cost effective. However, we must include that web apps doesn’t give you access to all those attractive functions of the mobile hardware, neither help you create loyal customers.
Hybrid App
This is one of the latest kind of apps which are also basically somehow similar to web apps, says a developer at web design and development company in UK. You develop them using JavaScript, CSS, HTML5 and some other languages and finally encapsulate them in different SDK packets targeting different OS platforms. So, you can pack them with several features, upload into the concerned app store and install in mobiles of that platform. So, you have to pay for only one app, however they can be installed and ran on any mobile. What about the cons? As every OS has some unique feature, you can’t use them to keep the app usable on every mobile. Also, some developers say, they are a bit slower than native apps.
