How To Do Your Own Party Makeup
We know how you love to look your best, especially if you’re heading to a party. Of course, looking glamorous would be a cakewalk if you had a makeup artist or hairstylist on speed dial. But since that isn't always possible, the next best solution is to be your own makeup artist! And don't worry, it's easier than you think—all you need is this simple party makeup tutorial with detailed makeup steps to take your look from start to stunner! Here is the full list of all the essential party makeup tips you need to keep on hand…
Step 1 – The first step to perfecting your party makeup look is working on the base. The best makeup tip we can hand you? Employ a trusty primer for the job. Why, you ask? Because a primer strengthens your base makeup. It fills pores and scars, increases the longevity of makeup and reduces the appearance of imperfections. Prime first and you won't regret it!
Step 2 - Next, move on to concealing imperfections like dark circles and blemishes. Use concealer to draw an inverted triangle in the under eye area. A makeup tip recommended by beauty professionals, this shape brightens the area ...
... and gives the eyes a natural lift. Dot concealer over any imperfections and blend it into the skin. Then apply liquid foundation all over your face and neck making sure to use a light hand. If required, you can always add additional coverage later. Use a thick bristled buffing brush to blend the foundation into your skin and ensure that no patches or seams are showing. Follow this by dusting loose powder over your skin using a large powder brush. This makeup step will ensure that your makeup stays in place for hours to come.
Step 3 – To get started on your eye makeup, apply an eyeshadow primer over your lids and lash area. Then, use an application brush to pat silver eyeshadow over your eyelid. Follow this by applying dark grey shadow at the crease. Finally, apply a black shadow in the triangle at the outer corner of your lid. Use a blending brush to merge these three shades. Use a liquid liner to line your lash line and extend it outwards to create a winged eyeliner style. Finish this with two coats of mascara on your lashes and your silver smokey eye makeup is ready!
Step 4 – To get a statement red pout, outline your lips with a red coloured lip liner. Then apply red lipstick over your lips, making sure to stay within the liner. This makeup step of applying lip liner prevents your lipstick from creasing and smudging.
Step 5 – Dust a brown toned blush at the centre of your cheeks and blend it outwards, towards your temples. A touch of blush is the final step of your party makeup routine which will illuminate your cheeks and further, your entire look!
