When tested on group of 40 patients, carbamazepine recovered 22 patients while the numbers of patients cured by acupuncture were quiet more. Acupuncture was able to treat 30 patients out of 40. One group of patients was given carbamazepine while the others were given several acupuncture manipulation therapies. The result was that acupuncture was found to be more effective as compared to the drug.

Acupuncture treatment cures maximum number of ailments without creating the threat of serious side effects and because of this reason a lot of patients are laying their faith on acupuncture. With the help of acupuncture the qi (energy) levels of the body are restored. Uneven distribution of qi can trigger pains and they need to be balanced with the help pf acupuncture to avoid further troubles. Acupuncture is also known to cure the trigger points. By its manipulative techniques it breaks the trigger points and provides a respite to the ailing patients. It can also protect patients against surgeries. It is best for people who are deeply afraid by the idea of going under the knife. Acupuncture not only produces prevailing results but it is quick in its approach too.
