A Television can be many things, educating, entertaining, addictive, but the last thing it can be is unimportant...

Televisions have come a long way since their inception and our life without television is unimaginable of sorts. With everyday a new technology popping up, it is slightly difficult to keep up with the pace. Every other person has a different take on their idea of the best TV as what is most important to you might not be the same to the others. We will keep this post as informative as possible which might help you choose the right TV based on your requirement.

What types of TVs are available in the market?

We hear a lot of names- the LCDs, LEDs, OLEDs, Plasma TVs. So, what are these? Are they just throwing those big names and a heavy price tag just to trick you into buying? There was a time when we had the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) televisions, which was until the flat screen televisions took over. Then came the LCD TVs.

LCD TV: The flat screen revolution started off with the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TVs. Slimmer the better, this is the jargon that dominates the electronic world. The ...
... LCD TVs are slimmer and lighter and quite easy on the eye, unlike the box like structure in the name of the TV. The source of light in order to illuminate the screen is the CCFLs (Cold Cathode Florescent Lamps). The catch here is however, a lot of CCFLs are required to illuminate the screen as most of the light is blocked by the time it reaches the viewer. LCD TVs use as much power as that of the CRTs as the power used per display size is quite high.
Pros:
1.Slimmer and lighter in weight as compared to the CRTs.
2.Cost-effective
Cons:
1.One of the major drawbacks is the power consumption.
2.Image quality is quite mediocre with the ghosting effect and poor contrast ratio.

LED backlit LCD TV: The LCD TVs that use the Light Emitting Diodes (LED) for the back-lighting are the LED-LCD TVs. There are ideally three types of LED TVs, the most common being the edge-lit LED TV. This is the kind of LED TV, where the LEDs are placed only on the edge of the frame and a diffusion plate is used to distribute the light evenly across the screen. This type of TV is quite thin. The dynamic RGB LED TV on the other hand has the LEDs placed right behind the panel making something called the local dimming possible in the LED range of TVs. With this feature, the blacks appear much darker thereby leading to the good contrast ratio. The third variety of LED TVs are the full-array LED TVs, where once again the LEDs are placed behind the panel, however, there is no local dimming technology in this case.
Pros:
1.Slimmer and lighter in weight as compared to the LCDs.
2.Low on Energy Consumption
3.Rich, vibrant colours
Cons:
1.Expensive

OLED TVs: The Organic LED TVs are unlike the normal LED backlit LCD TVs where the screen lights up with the backlight. Ideally a TV requires just three basic colours of Red, Green and Blue to create an image on the TV. An OLED TV works in such a way that it uses the glowing materials to put light through these specific colours, resulting in a thinner and lighter TV as there is no backlight technology involved. Moreover, each pixel can shut the light off when not required, enhancing the truer black and hence a producing a phenomenal contrast ratio.

Pros:
1.Thinner and lighter than ED TVs
2.Extremely high Contrast Ratio
3.Highly Energy Efficient
Cons: Very Expensive

Now that there is a fair idea as to what LCD, LED and the OLED TVs are, let’s take a peek and check the three thumb rules while selecting a TV for your use.

1.Specs are just for namesake
It could be mind boggling if you look at the specs and it is basically a gimmick used by the manufacturers to trick you into choosing the high-end models

2.Bigger, the better
Be it for home use of for any event, the bigger, the TV the better are the prospects. We are talking on the upside of 65”.

3.Go with 4K and HDR resolutions
The 4K TVs have at least four times better screen resolution as compared to the 1080p TVs taking the sharpness level to unprecedented levels.

Home is where our heart is, be it for home use, business or an event, if the television use is for a limited period of time, then the ideal choice would be to go for TV rentals. With the summer coming up and in the process opening up doors to the outdoor events, choosing the right TV for any use is quintessential. This is where Laptop Rental UAE steps in. Beginning with TV Rentals for events where you require huge set up to showcase each and every happening moments of the concert live or you are looking for a TV to watch your favourite sports, then your answer is just one click away. At quite competitive costs, we not only help you choose the right TV for your requirement, but we also see to it that you get the best value for money bargain.
