Types Of Drugs And Their Effect On The Body
A drug is a substance which alters the body functions either physically or psychologically. There are various kinds of drugs available, legal (e.g. alcohol, tobacco) or illegal (e.g. cannabis, cocaine, or heroin).
Below is the list of a few drugs and their effect on the body:-
1.Amphetamines- Amphetamine is a synthetic stimulant which comes in powder form. It is usually white, yellow, grey or pink in color. Although, this drug increases alertness, however, if one gets prone toit,anxiety, irritability, restlessness and dizziness boosts in the body. Therefore, it should only be taken under the prescription of a licensed professional.
2.Alcohol- Many people consume alcohol for leisure and consider it fun; however, it is very dangerous. 4.Prescription drugs- Prescription drugs are usually recommended by a professional doctor. These drugs are highly beneficial for the people to whom they are prescribed. There are three types of prescription drugs: pain relievers, sedatives, and stimulants. If taken unnecessarily, these drugs can lead to various problems. Pain relievers are effective in curing body aches; however, if taken unnecessarily, it can cause drowsiness, constipation and can even lead to death. Similarly, sedatives and stimulants can cause seizures, paranoia, lack of coordination, etc. Therefore, it is important to take drugs as prescribed by a professional.
5.Cocaine- Cocaine is most commonly found as a white powder, and is usually made into a solution and injected into the body. Taking a large amount of cocaine is associated with unpredictable and violent behavior. Moreover, cocaine overdose can even cause respiratory arrest and even a sudden death.
