Before understanding hoisting equipments, let us look at what does hoisting means. Hoisting means lifting something above the ground against gravity. This action can be completed by hand held small screw or big and high powered elevators or cranes. So, equipments that are used to lift heavy loads in manufacturing or any processing industries are called Hoisting equipments. Mostly these equipments use links like roller chains or wire rope which are mostly unbreakable and can bear heavy weight. Hoisted equipments can be powered in different ways like electric, ...
... manual and so on. They are used with a number of attachments.

Manual Hoists are simple hand operated devices made up of durable and high grade steel to ensure safety when the heavy amount of load is lifted. It consists of two chain loops i.e. hand chain and lifting chain. Manual hoisting equipments also include chain hoists, ratchet hoists, steel wire hoist and trolleys which are comfortable in lifting, pulling and moving. They are user friendly and are protected against overload.

Air hoists are hoisting equipments driven by motors. When these are attached with chain then they are called as chain hoists. If they are attached with wire rope as lifting medium, then they are known as air wire rope hoists. Air rope wire hoists are mostly used in situations where chances of electric hazards or fire hazards are much more. Electric hoists are driven by electric motors.

End effectors are another class of ladder hoist equipments used for special purpose. These includes C hook which is used for coil handling requirements, gripping lifters used for weightlifting events, mechanical lifters , vaccum lifters which utilize extraction pumps, sheet lifters grabs load of sheet metal by wrapping itself around edges, pallet lifters which uses forks, lifting beams which are made up of solid or fabricated metal are good in controlling heavy load movements, magnet lifts carry or release iron made objects and may use power supply, sling or strap hoists are large and bulky and drum turners use drums for filling and emptying.

Usage of Hoisting equipments

Though, there are many uses of goods hoist hire equipments but here let us look at some of the important ones –

Assembly - When movement of heavy loads is needed in the production process , hoisting equipments are used.

Positioning - In these processes, hoisting equipments are used for securing components for additional works.

Transportation - When loading and unloaing is done in industries, finished products or loads are to be sent to their respective destinations.

Staging - The mid level processes or additional processes where weightlifting and other related tasks have to be done.

Storage - Storage areas are both ways usable, from the time finished products are sent to customer to the time where products finished and sent to be stored.

Benefits of hoisting equipment

Customizable - Hoisting equipments are very much customizable and can be attached with the accessories as per requirement of the situation.

Flexible - These are flexible and can be refitted easily.

Portable - They can be easily shifted from working site to another working site.

Safety - One of the major reasons why hoisting equipments are preferred because it is safer to use hoisting equipments rather than forklifts as they work overhead in specific work areas.

Positioning - These equipments are precise in positioning.

Hoist hire equipments are used in numerous types of industries which includes automotive, chemical, manufacturing, paper, news paper, steel, warehousing and distribution.
