Awe-inspiring Things To Do In Budapest
With Budapest it can be 'love at first sight'. Conjuring two cities namely Buda and Pest are separated by the majestic River Danube. Though both the parallel sides of the city are connected by a number of impressive bridges, these are two very different places, with an interesting character and abundant things to keep you on your toes.
One week is not enough to see it all. On your holidays to Budapest, you will find what you need - vintage shopping, an array of bars and some amazing restaurants. Try not to tick off everything, so that you can get another excuse to come back soon. And if you’re lucky enough to be going soon, these are the ten things you shouldn’t miss while you’re there.
Get refreshed at the thermal baths
Bathing in the city of Budapest is a favourite pastime for everyone coming into the city. You will be spoilt for choices in choosing your bathing place. The water is warm year-round. So even if you visit Budapest during the winters, means you get into your simple outfit and get inside the hot pools.
The most renowned baths and also the biggest medicinal bath is Szechenyi, displaying ...
... the sprawling Neo-baroque building, which also houses outdoor and indoor pools, steamed rooms and a sauna. The Gellert is another popular bath in Budapest, which is a tiny building that gives you the cosiness and warmth of a cathedral.
Soak Up Best Views of the City
For wide-ranging views of the city, the Fisherman's Bastion on the Buda side is the best place to be. From Pest, if you look towards the Chain Bridge you will find a cable car that goes toward the Buda Castle. If you are fit enough, you can take the stairs to walk up the steep hill.
The exercise is worth it and the views are incredible. Admire the multi-coloured tiles right on the Matthias Church and capture the Chain Bridge, Houses of Parliament and the enchanting city of Pest.
