2016, or what is known as the year of grief for Pakistan, because of some huge losses and follies are inadequate, we saw some women of the country thrive for the right reasons. A number of Pakistani women are proud of the country after excel in their respective fields in 2016.

Described as the second worst country for gender equality through the Gender Gap Index 2016 at the World Economic Forum, it has managed some of the names of the country to denounce the report and demand in the country to a standstill of the progress of the role of women.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy

Often said that O in Obaid stands for the Oscars, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy in 2016, the second Oscar for Girl won the River: the price of forgiveness, a documentary about honor killings in Pakistan. She became the first Pakistani to win two Oscars. Extras, also won the audience choice award for Song of Lahore in London Slik Screen Festival.
