Are You Considering Breast Augmentation Surgery? Here Are Some Facts To Consider
Breast augmentation is another term for breast enlargement or a boob job. In this surgical procedure, implants are inserted into your breasts to boost size, correct asymmetry, or change their shape. This procedure can also help restore the volume of your breasts that have lost their form or have sagged as a result of breast feeding, pregnancy, or losing a lot of weight. If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, here are some important facts to consider before you proceed:
• Breast augmentation must be performed by a skilled and highly trained cosmetic surgeon - Like any surgery, breast augmentation comes with risks like bad scars, an infection, bleeding, implant rupture, capsular contraction, and asymmetry. Hence, it makes sense to find a highly skilled, qualified, and accredited cosmetic surgeon to ensure a smoother healing process and the best results. Reputable cosmetic surgeons have access to the latest techniques, surgical procedures, and implants that are safe and effective, too.
• There are different sizes of implants – Work with your cosmetic surgeon to find the best implant size for you. ...
... Factors like your skin’s elasticity, chest and body proportions, and your breasts’ current composition are considered when determining the right size of implant that suits you.
• You may need to stay overnight in a hospital – Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and it usually takes about an hour. It can be accomplished in a day, but you will usually have to stay in a hospital for a single night for observation.
• Results are not evident on the first day – Good things come those who wait, and this applies to breast augmentation surgery. There will be bruising and swelling after surgery, and you may feel discomfort and pain for three to seven days. Rest assured, the surgeon will provide antibiotics to prevent infection, and he or she may prescribe painkillers to reduce discomfort. You will be advised to wear a supportive bra 24/7 for the first three months, too. Scarring will occur, but they should fade over time. It usually takes 12 weeks until the final result, and scars will continue to improve in 18 months.
• You need to put off heavy exercises and strenuous activities for a while – After surgery, you should avoid strenuous exercise or lifting heavy objects for six weeks. You may have to take time off work for one to two weeks.
