Today many schools are offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities for children. The extracurricular programme allows students to develop and display skills that are not accommodated by class work.

For example: If you visit RBKIS – a top school in Mira Bhayander, you will see a huge well-equipped campus in the school, built for various activities like basketball, football, chess, music, drama etc.

Schools are taking every effort to develop multi-faceted talents and boost our child’s ability to prosper in their future endeavours. Likewise, as parents and elders it’s our duty as well, that we provide proper food and nutrition to our children, so that they are able to actively participate in the school activities.

Here is a list of 5 super foods to boost and strengthen your child's energy for various activities:

1. Garlic
One of the best ways to strengthen and boost your child’s immune system is to give them garlic. This amazing food contains anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. Garlic stimulates the immune cells and increases antibody production.

During the rainy ...
... season and winters, children are very much susceptible to common cold, cough, flu, asthma, pneumonia, etc. However all these can be cured to a great extent by adding pieces of garlic to your children’s food. Garlic can both, prevent and cure respiratory diseases completely.

2. Green Leafy Vegetables
Green leafy vegetables are exceptionally rich in immune boosting nutrients. One of these is iron which is important for the production of white blood cells and antibodies. Kids who are involved in all-day competitions or strenuous endurance sports need to consume more greens to keep up with increased energy demands.

Unfortunately, green leafy vegetables are not always the favourite option on your child’s menu. To get them to eat a handful of greens, you really need to get a little innovative with your cooking skills.

3. Kiwi
This small fruit is a powerful nutrient punch. Kiwis are low in calories and fat-free. It provides tons of energy, fiber, and antioxidants, and are packed with vitamins and minerals such as vitamins E and C, magnesium, potassium, folate, lutein, and zinc.
The delightful factors of kiwi fruit helps the good bacteria in the body stay strong and healthy. Kiwi fruit also cures asthma in kids and prevents colon cancer.

4. Nuts
Nuts are a good source of fat (3), fiber and protein. Omega-3 is a healthy fat that promotes cardio-vascular health. Having a little bit of “good” fat in the morning gives your kids a burst of energy to keep them going.

Nuts are something that will get your kids what they need to make it through their sport and help them be a good sportsperson, too!

5. Eggs
Eggs are well-known as a great protein source -- even the egg yolks are packed with choline, which helps memory development.

Send your child off to school with a grab-and-go breakfast egg burrito. Or try egg breakfast or dinner once in a week -- scrambled eggs and toast are great to serve.

Be it any day any time, this super food is sure to keep your child charged and energized round the clock.

For young achievers, it is very important that they pay attention to what they eat and drink. If they are properly fuelled and hydrated they will have that competitive edge. However, if they compete without their nutritional needs met, they will struggle to show how great they can be in other activities.

If you kid loves sports or other activities like music, dance, drama, then get your child enrolled in RBKIS. It is one of the best schools in Mira road and Bhayander that offers a well-planned curriculum aided by effective extra-curricular activities.
