Everything You Need To Know About The Nissan Patrol Ti
If you have been considering the new Nissan Patrol 2016 range, you may have overlooked the benefits offered by this iconic model. The Patrol is a military inspired vehicle which first hit our shores in 1960. However, it didn’t become a solid part of the landscape here until the 1980s when the third generation Patrol arrived. Although the Nissan Patrol has been a strong contender for more than fifty years, the Ti been refreshed to provide a more powerful, comfortable and bigger model.
The Performance:
The Patrol Ti is equipped with a massive V8 5.6 litre engine, which provides 298 kW power and 560 Nm torque. This is approximately fifty percent more torque compared to the GU diesel. Although the model has a hefty 2800 kilogram bulk, it still has an impressive power to weight ratio of 110W/kg.
However, this sheer power will come at a cost. The fuel consumption is listed as 14 litres per 100 kilometres on a combined cycle, which makes this model a little on the thirsty side. The model has a 140 litre fuel tank, which means that you will have approximately 1,000 kilometre range on a full tank.
Price:
...
... When the Ti was originally launched in 2013, the price was $92,850 plus on the road and optional costs. The top spec models cost in excess of $113k. However, this year Nissan have revised their pricing structure. This means that the Ti is now priced at $69,990, which represents a $23,000 saving and makes this Nissan Patrol even more competitive.
For example, the GXL Toyota Landcruiser turbo diesel is priced at $87,000. While the Toyota may be a little more frugal fuel wise, you would potentially gain seventeen years of driving from the price gap if you buy the Nissan.
Inside the Cabin:
The Ti has a whole host of equipment as standard. This includes tri zone climate control, surround view park camera, leather trimmed seats, sat nav, keyless entry and a number of off road tools such as tyre pressure monitor, wheel angle display, and compass.
There is also acres of space. With all the seats in place, there is a mammoth 550 litres of cargo space. If you fold the 60:40 split third row, this increases to 1500 litres, which is more than enough for your luggage even with a full complement of passengers.
The Nissan Patrol officially has an eight seat layout, with plenty of space even in the rear row. There is also a gap between the first and second row which is so vast; it should be called an aisle. There is also a diverse range of storage solutions to ensure that all the passengers enjoy the journey including cupholders, storage cubbies, and bins.
