Aggressive Toddler : Combating your whining toddler behavior: a how-to guide

Are you fed up with the hassle of having to deal with your kids throwing fits when you are out shopping? Are you scared that your child's violent fits and tantrums are unhealthy for his/her growth? If you are reading this article, it is most likely because you want to find new ways to more effectively discipline your toddler. Regardless of your experience as a parent, there are some key principles that will enhance your ability to discipline and raise your child. First of all, in order to be able to discipline your child, you need to know how to develop the message in a way that her/she will be able to understand it.

Your child is not your husband or wife, and will not respond to your arguments and screams in the same way because they have not fully developed the communication skills necessary to understand what you are saying or why you are so angry. Corporeal punishment is not a good idea either. How would you combating your child's misplaced aggression with your own form of aggression solve anything; most likely, it would ...
... only cause your child to become defensive. This will inevitably result in a lack of cooperation with any future attempts at disciplinary action It set you and your child up for much more heartache in the times ahead

Now that we know what not to do when dealing with you whining child, lets examine why toddlers throw tantrums: attention. So the best thing to do is to ignore their behavior. It seems logical that if your child's repeated attempts at grabbing your attention fall on deaf ears, he will eventually stop trying. If he starts manifesting more aggressive and hostile behaviour, try taking him to a quiet room and let him know that he received a time out as a result of his behaviour. By punishing him every time he acts out, you can teach him to develop some personal responsibility for his own actions.

Be constant and remember that irregular parents often see their discipline strategies questioned. Once they calm down, talk to them using very short and simple phrases. Show them the words that correlate with how they are feeling It might sound silly buy a little child might not even know what the word frustrated or mad exactly means. Among all of your available options, setting up a good verbal communication groundwork is the best way for you to deal with your child.

As you start seeing good results, give sincere words of praise for every good behaviour observed. Small gifts are an effective way to demonstrate your praise. In this way, your child learns that good behavior will get your attention, and will therefore not want to throw a temper tantrum, as he knows the consequences of doing so. Positive discipline is always more motivating and effective Your children will remember how good it feels to be in harmony with the people their parents and will strive to maintain that atmosphere.

As a parent, you must remember to be patient These changes will not happen overnight; they take dedication and effort on both the part of the parent and child. You'll get out of this what you put into it
