Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. But, if your eyes are not maintained well, what will the eyes see? What you eat and drink will affect your body and your eyes are no exception. Eat the right food and you can change the way you are.

First and foremost: drink lots of water. It is good for your skin as well as your vision. It hydrates your pupils so that it does not get dry and cause head ache. Modern life style and work environment is such that, it dries up your pupils. Air conditioners, stuffy environment, lot of dust accumulated around the files piled up at office will cause a lot of problems. Therefore, it is essential to keep them hydrated by drinking water.

Secondly, splash water now and then, to relax them. It helps you cool your eyes. If you are feeling strained, you can also use cucumber juice. Wet cotton with some cucumber juice and relax your eyes. Massage them with olive oil externally and thus pamper them.

Eat tuna fish, cod, sardine and mackerel fish which are known to provide good eye sight. People who eat a lot of fish, seldom complain about vision problems. They have a sharp vision. ...
... For those who don't like the taste of fish, can consume cod liver tablets which are made out of fish oil. DHA are useful for good health and repair of cell membranes around the pupils and hence help sight preservation. If you are a vegetarian, then you can opt for green leafy vegetables which contain plenty of carotenoids which protect you from any harmful rays from sun.

Any food product that contains Vitamin E and beta carotene is good for your vision. Soy, Fish, Vegetables such as carrot and fruits are a good source of this. Carrots can easily be added into salads and soups, and are always a great side veggie with lunch or dinner. You can also dip them in just about anything — salsa, hummus, guacamole, peanut butter and low-cal dressings.

-Nuts, grains and flax seeds are beneficial for the repair of cell membrane and to make your vision sharper. Omega 3 fatty acids are also helpful for your sight retention.

Grains, such as flax seed, are high in the beneficial Omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower cholesterol and stabilize cell membranes. Drink wine once or twice in a week and protect your eye sight and heart.
