Music Gigs In Cambridge-00-5040
Some venues are located in the city centre and others are scattered throughout the outskirts with a mixture of places selling tickets for Cambridge gigs and others featuring live bands as part of their service.
The Man on the Moon pub is located in the heart of the action on Norfolk Street and it boasts an air-conditioned, sound-proofed room that is set out with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. Music here varies from punk and reggae, through to heavy metal and indie and it is one of the most popular places to enjoy live music in Cambridge. Acoustic Routes is located close to the centre of the city in the basement of CB2 restaurant and it welcomes folk, blues, Americana, acoustic guitars and live singers to entertain their crowds. The venue was set up by Bernard Hoskin in 2001 in a bid to present the city with a non-mainstream music venue and Hank Marvin, Benny Gallagher, Chris Difford and Christine Collister are among a small selection of famous names who have performed here.

The Cambridge Corn Exchange is a large entertainment venue that plays host to live bands and musical events as well as comedy nights, concerts and musicals. Live Cambridge gigs here include metal bands, soft rock and country music as well as many others. Purple Rain recreates the look, sound and appeal of Prince with their six-piece band that belts out covers of the famous singer throughout venues in the city. Curse Removed play hardcore death metal and, although based in Peterborough, they venture into Cambridge to share their mind-blowing performances with students and locals. Saffron Filth enjoys playing alternative rock with huge influence in their music from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam.
Whatever type of music you are into, Cambridge gigs cover a wide variety of styles and sounds and they can be enjoyed from just as wide a range of venues. Local universities and colleges boast student bars that also host live bands and these can be enjoyed by anyone.
