Sanitary wares is such a broad term that is commonly used in the home building industry. It includes almost anything that does not go into the making of the building’s structure itself. Sanitary wares in India are available in wide ranges and includes faucets (wash basins), kitchen sinks, tiles, and commode, taps and bath tubs.
The number of varieties and options before customers is exhaustive and it is easy to confuse utility with appeal. Prices also play an important factor in deciding the right types of sanitary wares.
Here are many options that customers will want to consider for their dream homes.
Faucets (wash basins) and Kitchen Sinks
The three main guiding points in ordering a faucet are: ease of mounting, spout styles & shapes and convenience. If you have a spacious bathroom or kitchen you can opt for the standalone type. This will consume more space, but the advantage is that they are generally larger and have more space. The wall mounted models are better suited for small kitchens that have to save space. Generally wall mounts are preferred for apartment type buildings in big cities ...
... where space sells at a premium.
Spouts come in many shapes and sizes. This is an important factor if you have to use water more judiciously. Choose a spout that does not throw water at high pressure. It can spill water all over the place. Sometimes multiple spouts for a single faucet will work wonders. It will let you mix hot water with cold to deliver water with proper temperature.
Though ceramics are considered the most appropriate materials for faucets, it is now a days quite common to see faucets made of stainless steel. It is easier to shift a metal faucet and they rarely break or get damaged.
Wall and Floor Tiles
The principle considerations for ordering flooring tiles are prices. Ideally anyone will want marble or granite, but then they are expensive and prices can prevent many homes from ordering it. Vitrified tiles are a good bet because they give a good neat appearance and come in multiples of colours and designs. There are tiles specifically designed for walls and for floors.
Check with the manufacturer whether they are resistant to corrosive chemicals. You should prefer the corrosion-resistant models for bathrooms and kitchens so that they are able to bear the harshness of acidic cleaners. Almost all cleaners are known to contain one or the other types of corrosive chemicals.
The tiles for bathrooms should be slip-proof. The right ones are smaller tiles as compared to the ones meant for other rooms. Ideally white tiles make sense to use, but you may want colours or designs to it. When you order, order at least 2% more tiles than what you estimate. Otherwise you may have problem with matching designs. To make yourself double sure that the tiles match, buy from the same batch. For batch numbers you can look in the packaging details.
If you have a big budget, you should generally prefer marble stones or granites. They are natural materials and give your home a rich appearance. They can cost you a small fortune.
Commode Basins
As again with other sanitary wares in India, size is a major consideration in deciding the right commode for your bathrooms. Don’t get carried away by the big price and the excellent look, more important are: flushing performance, water savings and toilet size and mounting methods.
Overall you should strive to match the colour scheme of your bathroom when deciding the right commode.
Home owners are advised to consider flushing performance as the first most important factor. It should be capable to handling baby wipes, sponges, water filled latex and plastic balls. As your retail store owner whether they will guarantee you and whether they have tested the commode for flushing efficiency. Sometimes manufacturers will include this information in their product descriptions.
Your commode should be water efficient when you order sanitary wares in India. This is because most cities in India are water deficient. There are some models that have double-flush system and still consumer less water. We will recommend this if your home is in a water deficient region.
Choose the right stores for sanitary wares in India carefully. The right store is one that stocks multiple brands and has samples for you to see. Many stores also have a consultant architect and they will provide you free consultation. If your store can give digital images it is good for you. This way you will be able to visualize if it meets your idea of a great bathroom. It is a tough task to remodel a bathroom and it can cost you the heaven.
