In summary, offsite optimisation and onsite optimisation are both required to complement each other. Even if you establish a lot of backlinks, if the content on your website is poor, your listing will be poor. Equally, however interesting the content on your website may be, unless you draw attention to yourself with back linking, Google may still not notice your website.

The key thing to remember about link building is that you should not force the process. The most important factor is the content that you are writing, not where you are submitting it to.
