Plumbers 'in High Demand'

Industry professionals who have taken plumber training curses could find that their employment opportunities have been boosted over the last few months.

Figures from Screwfix's recent Trade Pulse Index, reported in the Yeovil Express, have shown that plumbers are currently the busiest tradespersons.

The publication suggested that such workers have been inundated with requests to perform last-minute repairs and installation projects before many households welcome their families round for Christmas.

John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, commented: "It would appear that a bit of confidence is returning and some households have decided it's better to GSI (Get someone in) than DIY, particularly at this busy time of year."

He added that both the level of activity and number of quotes being provided have increased significantly in the last month compared to the rest of the year.

Screwfix is based in Yeovil and supplies tradespersons and DIY enthusiasts alike with hardware products, accessories and tools.
