If it is time to purchase your new air conditioning unit and if you have saved well to get it then it is not time to just go and get the very first air conditioning unit that you come across. Rather you need to take some time to look at a few things and decide what it is that you need. Buying an air conditioning unit is not the same as buying a pair of shoes, it needs more time and reasoning because unlike a pair of shoes, this is going to be a commitment that you will have to live with for a very long time.

Some units are more expensive due to their performance or just because of the way it has been designed. It is always prudent to invest in a unit that has been built for performance and not just for looks.

Such units would also need holes to be drilled in your walls so that the cables and the gas tubes can be connected to the indoor unit. So find out with your landlord if he will have a problem with you drilling such holes!

As for a window air con unit, check if you have the necessary space to install it or if you will have to cut open a new area to mount the unit. Yet again check with your landlord.

Here are three items that has to be on your check list when you are getting ready to go and get your new air conditioning unit. Always ensure that you get a unit from an authorized dealer who would also provide services on a later date.

If they have extended warranty options then go ahead and invest in that too. You can never say for certain when your air conditioning unit will give up its ghost. So it’s best to be prepared for it and get an extended warranty so that the spare parts would also be covered by the warranty.
