Have you exposed your mane to chemical elements and heat? Then, you are bound to have damaged follicles due to the continuous exposure to heat and chemicals. Chemical hair relaxing formula and neutralizer is used for straightening your mane permanently. The three types of chemicals usually used are Sodium Hydroxide, Guanidine Hydroxide and Ammonium Thioglycolate. These are used for three different types of shaft texture such as very curly follicles, not too curly and slightly wavy follicles.

You may use chemicals for various purposes such as:

-Relaxed follicles
-Permed follicles
-Ironed shafts
-Chemically treated such as colouring, highlights etc.

These will leave your shafts damaged and causes split ends and dryness. It has to be treated at the right time, if not it will lead to thinning of follicles and baldness. The strongest of all the chemicals among the relaxers is Sodium Hydroxide which is used to create drastic effects on very curly or stubborn mane. It provides good results but if not taken care of post chemical treatment leads to splitting and damages the shafts. Therefore, take ...
... adequate care to moisturize your dry shafts post chemical treatment.

Type of conditioners used are:

-Leave in type
-Rinse away

In order to retain the lost shine and luster and to make your mane look naturally healthy, you need to make use of the above products. The leave in type can be used on washed follicles when it is wet and must be left to dry naturally. The second type is used post shampooing your mane. It is essential to condition your mane after shampooing it in order to keep it moistened. Do not apply this on the scalp and start applying it from the middle of your hair to the tips. If not the scalp gets too oily! Use shampoo on the scalp to clean away the dirt and then follow it up with the moistening product.

Natural care for damaged follicles are:

Heat enough olive, sesame or almond to saturate your hair in a saucepan or in the microwave. Make sure it is just warm to the touch and not too hot.  Dab the warm olive oil on the roots of your hair with a cotton ball.  Wrap the hair in a plastic shower cap, cover with a hot towel and wait for at least 30 minutes.  Shampoo and rinse.   For extra conditioning, towel dry the hair and then apply a good leave in conditioner. This way, you can naturally treat your follicles. Take good care of your shafts! All the best!
