CHRISTMAS is one season of the year where people are more vulnerable to stress. Just imagine having to do all the planning, preparation supervision of the once in a year holiday gathering of family members and important people around us.

The problem however is when we miss out something or somebody. Another apprehension is the element of time. There so much work to be done in so little time --- plus the factor of resources (budget).

Yuletide need not be stressing for us. Consider some suggestions, which will somehow make your next Christmas less stressful and enjoyable.

Time is of Essence

Plan early. Planning way ahead of the Christmas rush (or any other holiday for that matter) keeps us out of a scenario where we tend to cram over the things-to-do. That way, we would have enough time to revise or add things that we missed in the list.

Writing a holiday plan plays a crucial role. The plan would include stuff to buy, things to do to buy and the list of people you're planning to send either a gift or a greeting card.

Under the list of those you'd wish to buy are gifts, food stuffs for ...
... the dinner table, greeting cards, etc., which could be bought even before the Christmas rush (with the exception of perishable goods). Under the things to do is a time table for things you intend to accomplish for a given day, week or date. Found in the list of people are names of family members and important individuals you intend to either buy a gift or at least greet through Christmas cards.

Keeping a holiday plan helps.

Saving for the Big Day

Occasions like Christmas is usually expensive amid the wrong notion of a shopping oriented that as the holiday season as reflected in the practice of festivities, banquets and gift giving.

On this premise, availability of funds becomes a crucial element, thus requiring us to save for the Big Day. Saving a small portion of our earning at the end of every week is a good start.

It is also advisable that things required of the holiday (like gifts and other non-perishable goods) be bought earlier to avoid higher prices. Remember the universal rule in business: Prices go up when the demand goes up. Holiday season usually posts the highest demand for all types of goods and services.

It also keeps away from the annoying inconveniences during the holiday rush as we no longer have to worry about the traffic congestion on the way to the supermarket or mall where we intend to buy our Christmas stuffs.

We also get to avoid the tedious (sometimes sickening) hunt for a parking space. We don't also have to bruise elbows and sneak our way into places where we intend to shop. To sum it all, we don't suffer a burden we don't really have to live with.

Online Shopping as an Option

In what appears to be another way to stay away from the discomforts, we can also consider online shopping. Just like the supermarkets and malls, these online shopping sites offer great discounts.

Another advantage of shopping online is that you don't really have to go out. Most of these online marketing sites offer free deliveries within reasonable distance. Transactions could also be consummated via Cash-on-Delivery or using credit cards. GP
