Inverness is an adorable small city in the northern part of United Kingdom. Spread on a small area of thirty six kilometers square, the place is well known for its scenic beauty and its peaceful ambience.
The population of this place is somewhere around forty to fifty thousand which makes it even more suitable for spending your holiday away from the hustle bustle of city life. It is easily accessible and has good air, road and rail connections.
This place is the Capital of the Highland and it is an education hub for all the students of Highland. It has lot of day trips, boat cruises and coach tours to offer to the people.
If you are a flora lover then you should take the bridges across the River Ness and old stone buildings, these bridges will take you to a beautiful place known for its floral displays. You can also visit Bught Park and Botanic Garden to explore more. In Botanic Garden you’ll find a small waterfall, fishes, trees and plants of all sorts.

Inverness has room for everyone and for all sorts of interests, even if it is of haunted places. The Bishop Palace and the palace where King Duncan was murdered are said to be haunted. It is said that ghosts of the King and the lady haunts those places.
The most famous place of the city is the palace from Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. This castle is there since the eleventh century, earlier it was built of wood but later it was reconstructed with stones on Castle Hill. People say that they have seen the ghost of King Duncan walking along the banks of River Ness. However, there are no evidences from the history which proves that the king was actually murdered.
