Fitness training is a diverse industry. Aerobics training is one among many branches in the field. Demand for aerobics trainers has increased in the recent past. This is so because many people want to get in shape and improve their health. To maintain their physical fitness and health, they need an instructor to prescribe routine exercise to help them keep fit. And that’s where aerobics trainer services come in handy.

Role of an Aerobics Trainer

Create and plan daily exercise routine – Aerobics Trainer is responsible in identifying the appropriate music for every routine exercise. It’s also his/her duty to identify a suitable body and muscle movement for every individual.

Explain safety measures as per the regulatory body to participants – It’s also his/her duty to ensure all the participants adhere to those safety rules.

Measure individual progress – he/she must be able to identify individual strengths and weaknesses. It’s also his/her duty to turn those weaknesses to strengths.

Certifications
Just like any other job, an aerobics trainer requires certification. Since India doesn’t have accrediting organization for aerobics and fitness training, an internationally recognized certificate is good for your resume. A certificate accredited by National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), American Council on Exercise (ACE) or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) will definitely boost your resume.

Aerobics trainers can work from gyms, health clubs, fitness and recreation centers, country clubs, hospitals, resorts to clients’ homes. Statistics carried by U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2012 indicated fitness trainers and aerobics instructors held around 267,000 jobs. It also projected this number will grow by 13% between 2012- 2022.

Salary
The salary of an aerobics trainer depends on the qualification, skills and experience. It’s also depends on organization or individual you are working for. In India, the salary also depends if the aerobics trainer is working in the northern or southern part of the country. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay for aerobic trainer is about $31,720 per annum. With the growing demand for fitness, the salary scale is expected to rise in future.
