Bayern Munich Making The Headlines For A Number Of Decades

Bayern Munich have been the most successful team in German football having won as any as 23 league titles and 15 cups. They are also one of the few teams to have won the European Cup and the UEFA Cup. Like their Spanish rivals Barcelona, Bayern have won four European Cups. The first three out of these four came back-to-back from 1974-1976 (considered to be Bayern’s golden era). They won their fourth European Cup in 2001.

Allianz Arena, with its capacity of 75000 people, provides a huge support to the players. The stadium is admired by many because of its ultra-modern structure and facilities. The fans inside the stadium are always loud and cheer for their team as long as they are on the field.
Awards and accolades:
Interestingly, in 2015, Bayern Munich had reached the semi-finals of UEFA Champions league for the fourth year in a row, taking their tally to ten UEFA Champions League final appearances. They had managed to win the final five times.

Manuel Neuer:
The present goalkeeper Manuel Neuer also broke Oliver Kahn’s record by being the goalie to keep the most number of clean sheets for the club by keeping a record 20 clean sheets in Bundesliga, in the season 2014-15.

There are only four coaches who have coached Bayern Munich and Barcelona namely Jack Domby, Udo Lattel, Louis Van Gaal and Pep Guardiola.
Fastest win:
The season 2014-15 was historically important for the Bayern players as they won the Bundesliga on match-day 30, which was the third fastest in Bundesliga’s 52 year history. Earlier Bayern had won the Bundesliga on match-day 28 (in the year 2013) and on match-day 27 (on the year 2014).
Revenue
Being the most famous club in German football, the revenue of this club is very big. They had earned 487.5 million pounds in 2013-14 season. Therefore it is not a surprise that they are considered to be the third richest sports club in the world.
Philipp Lahm:
The present captain of Bayern Munich, Philipp Lahm, is the longest serving player in Bayern colours. He had also mad many appearances for German national side the past years and continues to be a formidable player even now.
Record victory:
The famous win by twelve goals against their rivals Borussia Dortmund (in 1978) is considered to be a record in German football. The Bayern legend JuppHeynekes had scored five goals in that match.
Bayern have also won the DFB-Pokal fifteen times, which is a record in itself. It is the third most successful club in Europe besides Liverpool.
Bayern Museum:
A visit to the Bayern museum would make any one admire the presence of 101 balls hanging from its ceiling to commemorate the number of goals scored by Bayern in 1971-72 season.
