Former Ryder Cup captains Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle were eighth after the second round of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf Tournament in Savannah in Georgia.

The pair, rivals on the European Senior Tour, paired up and followed their first round 10-under-par 62, with a four-under 68.

Loren Roberts and Mark Wiebe led the tournament after shooting a second round 61 for a combined total of 19 under-par.

Roberts and Wiebe held a one-stroke margin over John Cook and Joey Sindelar after 36 holes of this year's Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. Roberts finished joint eleventh last year with partner Scott Simpson and was scheduled to play with Simpson again this year until he suffered a wrist injury in a car accident on January 17. Roberts eventually found Wiebe who had teamed with Australian Wayne Grady last year and finished joint 20th.
Woosnam, who has equipment contract with Forgan of St Andrews, and Lyle finished third in the Liberty Mutual event 12 months ago.

The winners of the Legends Division at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf will each receive 225 points in the season-long Charles Schwab Cup race. Bernhrad Langer (697) is the current point's leader in the Schwab Cup competition and Andy Bean is second with 414 points with Roberts, currently in third place with 407 points.

At the end of the official season, the player with the most Schwab Cup points will earn a $1 million payout.
