Summer Promotional Ideas
Summer is the season of outdoors, holidays and sunshine. There is often a feeling of generosity associated with the warmth and holidays that are associated with this. Businesses can use this to their advantage with practical merchandise to give to potential customers and employees.
One of our customers recently had the idea of holding a summer corporate picnic on a reserve near a beach where many of their prospective clients were expected to attend. They were launching a new campaign and wanted to make the presentation memorable and fun. Attendees were encouraged to wear tropical themed outfits and bring their families. While this concept alone was clever, they needed a token for people to take with them so that the potential clients would have a tangible item that could remind them of this day. It was decided by the company (after liaising with us regarding ideas) that they would have the oceanic beach bags (code G272) which is a waterproof bag containing goggles and an underwater camera. They decided to add some 50gm tubes of sunscreen, lip balms and sunglasses. They the bags, the sunscreens, the lip balms and the ...
... sunglasses branded with their corporate logo with the intention of handing them out on the day. The campaign was to sign up potential clients to a series of seminars so they also included a laminated brochure in each bag with a business card. The company ordered 500 of the items as they often hold these events and knew that buying a larger quantity was cheaper per unit. The feedback that we received from this particular customer was that over 80% of the clients who attended the event, signed up for the seminars. They attributed this to the tangible products that were handed out as 50% of those that registered did so after the event. At previous events where no merchandise was given, approximately 40% of attendees would sign up. This means that sales increased by 100%!
This is just one example of how a summer promotional concept assisted with increased sales. There are literally hundreds of items that are practical and fun for the summer season. Our stubby holders and other neoprene drink coolers are very popular and iconic. They can be used for particular promotions or simply as a promotional gift. Stubby coolers never get thrown away and have a very large branding area. The most popular industries for stubby holders are the building and construction industries, entertainment industry, bar and hospitality and events industries.
Caps & hats are also a great summer promotional idea. Not only do they keep the sun off and provide protection from UV rays, they are literally walking billboards for your brand. There are hundreds of styles and colours, so any business type can benefit from this tried and true summer marketing product. Schools and daycare centres often purchase the legionnaire caps for the kids to wear while also advertising themselves. Sporting clubs often choose caps that have laminated peaks or sandwich peaks so the caps look more stylish and stand out from other teams.
With summer comes thirst, and there are many promotional product ideas for drinkware. Plastic drink bottles are versatile, affordable and provide a large area for branding. There are many styles from flip tops to screw tops or wide mouthed to carabiner attachments. Along with plastic bottles, there are light weight aluminum drink bottles or for the true adventurer, stainless steel. Whatever your market or budget, there is a drink bottle that will suit your campaign.
There are many promotional items that can be used for summer marketing pursuits. These are just some ideas for creative giveaways for businesses to leave a lasting impression. There are many other items that can be used as summer promotions and your ideas can always be presented to your marketing products supplier for creation.
