Even though they take long when placing them unlike metal fillings, they bond teeth quite well
In case of any damage, they can be repaired easily
They harden immediately
Disadvantages include:-
They are costly than metal fillings
Can also be discoloured by foods and beverages. Also a bad dental hygiene can discolour them and may be prone to wear and tear easily
The materials are not as tough as dental amalgam fillings (commonly referred to as metal fillings).
They don’t work well in molars because the pressure exerted when chewing is too much for them.
