Most affiliates never really understand their role and their Internet based businesses, they think they just have to grab some affiliate links and banners and litter them around the Internet and that's how you make money. A top affiliate is much more than a cyberspace graffiti artist and the top Internet marketers understand that building trust and supplying information is what gets sales. People who visit your web site or blog must feel that the decision they are making is a good one and that is where the top affiliate comes in.

Most people are very weary of buying online and especially from any ole' site. Banners and "Buy Now" links do nothing for the visitors, and they actually turn away from them. The smart affiliate understands that he or she must convince or make them want to buy. The business who has the products or services and set up the affiliate program is the seller, affiliates are more than a seller and actually not even a seller at all. For Internet based businesses affiliates are "recommended" so to say.

Most people go to many sites and a few times before actually making a purchase. If you can deliver something unique and better than the competition likely they will come back and make a purchase from your recommendation.

If the affiliate understands all the above concepts and then put it all together into a summary for the method, they will use to gain sales from the affiliate programs and web site then their Internet based businesses will indeed make more money. Defiantly much more money then just spreading around affiliate links and banners. Visitors coming into a web site are not looking forward to whipping out their wallets and throw money around, it is up to the affiliate to convince them that the product or service in question is just what they want or need. Warming up visitors, making them actually want to buy and then sending them to the affiliate link and onto the product/service page is what makes great affiliates who run the top Internet based business online, and they keep search engines and visitors happy while doing it.
