You will perhaps find that as you learn to draw gradually, you will mature your own drawing style in a natural way. Your personality is unique, you observe things differently to how others do and the muscles in your hand are different to anyone else's. This will offer you with practice and subject for a portfolio if you do want to gain entry into commercial drawing.

Perhaps look at websites and agencies that promote illustrator works to notice what clients want so that you can develop your skills in the right direction.
