Incredible Icelandic Experiences You Must Have In 2015

Iceland is a spectacular country that is famous for its natural attractions. This incredible island nation is home to some mesmerising sights and amazing experiences. Here you can witness a midnight sun, or spot the beautiful Northern Lights. It is one of the safest travel destinations, especially for women, and displays a rich culture full of fascinating nuances and cuisine that will delight even the most adventurous gastronome.
Here are some of the exhilarating experiences that you should definitely try having in Iceland when you go on your wonderful Europe holidays this year:
Swimming in the Blue Lagoon:
Around 40 minutes from Reykjavik, which is the capital of the country lies the amazing geothermal spa called the Blue Lagoon. It is one of the only places on the planet that boasts of warm water that ranges from 37-39 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most famous and popular attractions. Swimming in the curative heated waters of this lagoon is an amazingly invigorating experience that you will be tempted to repeat almost every year. The stark dark landscape and ...
... the turquoise blue waters also make for a spell-binding spectacle.
Whale-Watching:
The northern part of Iceland is one of the best places in the world to go whale watching, with whale sightings being almost guaranteed. The best time to go whale watching in Iceland is between May to August, so make sure to plan your Europe holidays accordingly. The town of Husavik is known as the whale watching capital of the country and here you can spot minke whales, blue whales and orcas or killer whales as well as plenty of seals. Once you return from your whale watching expedition, you must also explore the stunning volcanic landscape of this region along with its striking black sand beaches.
Watching a Geyser Spout:
Iceland is home to one of the most famous geysers in the world, called Geysir, and it is believed that the name for this geographical wonder comes from this particular one located in the southern part of the country. Unfortunately, the renowned Geysir spouts only very rarely these days. Instead you should visit the Stokkur Geyser in the same area which is known to spout every five minutes or so. Squeal in delight as you witness the jet of steam pelt right into the air and fall right back down.
