Various Types Of Swimming Pool Removal Methods
Removing a swimming pool from your property is a major decision that you are going to make as a homeowner. There are a number of reasons that could lead towards demolishing a swimming pool. A few of the reasons are given herein below:-
• Lower utility costs
• Reduce time spent on pool maintenance
• Reduce property tax reduction
• Get rid of pool leaks
• End pool supplies & equipments, etc.
Partial Inground Pool Removal Method:
To carry out a pool removal process, you will require calling a San Jose pool removal company as this is not something you can handle on your own. The foremost step, which is taken in every type of pool removal is emptying the pool content i.e water. In case of partial pool removal method, deep holes of 3” are being drilled at the bottom of the pool so that the water does not get collected in it in the future. These holes will help draining the water properly. After it, the sides of the pool are broken down atleast 18” from the top and broken concrete is collected inside the bottom of the pool. The pool is then backfilled ...
... and compacted. The backfill and compaction process is crucial as without it a big sink may develop in the middle of your backyard.
Advantages:
Partial pool removal is the fastest method of removing pool from your property. It can be completed within 2-5 days. Unlike other methods, it is quite affordable and require less concrete breaking and debris removal.
Disadvantages:
The biggest disadvantage of partial pool removal method is, it leaves the land behind non-buildable. In case you are planning constructing something over the compacted land, it might affect your decision to do so. Also, if in the future, you require to build new pool, you would require recompacting the land, removing concrete and digging up the pool again.
Full inground pool removal method:
The process of full inground pool removal is same as that of partial removal method, with the major difference that everything, including concrete, gunite, fiberglass and vinyl lining is broken up and removed from the pool cavity using special equipments. The area is then filled in and compacted. The major advantage of full inground pool removal method is that, it leaves the land behind buildable. It would not affect the future construction decisions. However, the major downside of this process is, it is little costlier than the partial pool removal process.
Those were several San Jose pool removal methods, which are widely used. Depending upon your requirements and which features you want to preserve, you can pick up a method that perfectly meets your budget.
