Each brand developed its' own screen quality technology. Glossy finish, reflection preventing layer, high quality colors, high contrast, LCD backlight system, single lamp, dual lamp backlight or LED backlight system are the features that determine quality between laptop models and brands. Consider laptop screen technologies within your budget limit.

If you are fan of HD films or 3D enhanced games, take my advice and get a laptop with at least 15.4 inches size. Of course 16 inches or bigger screens are better for this kind of use especially ones with 16:9 aspect ratio and wide cinematic screen. Also three colored LED backlight, dual lamp technology or full LED backlight screens provide much more better display quality when compared to traditional normal laptops. You can take advantage of big screens and split them into two different screens to make things easier and faster.

Processor:

When someone says speed about a computer processors come to mind. This is true in a way, but lacking. Because processor affects only process speed, data transfer speed is bound to mainboard, revolutions per minute of hard ...
... disk, RAM's bandwidth frequency and some other factors. Each system affects other ones.

Here are some tips for multi-tasking in laptops and being able to use programs with high speed, meaning high speed in general.

1- GHz next to the processor's name means its clock speed. You can not determine speed of a processor only with that. For example we have two processors with 2 GHz process clock speed, one has 800 MHz Fsb, and the other's is 1066 MHz. In this kind of a situation of course 1066 MHz responds quicker. But what are these MHz things?

2- Processors have a data transfer speed between motherboard, most of users don't know about them. Shown with MHz units, processors have a part named ALU -Arithmetic logic unit- that transfers process results to mainboard. It has something to do with North Bridge on mainboard.

3- Nowadays most of the laptops use multi-cored processors. This is an important point. More than one cored processors allows multi-tasking. These cores data distribution principle changes as core architecture changes. With every new technology core architecture improves and changes. You can find which class of architecture your processors are in by searching through the producer's web site.

4- And there is an expression names L2 Cache memory that comes with multi cored processors. Produced in sizes like 2 MB, 4 MB, 6 MB, scales with quality. This memory is independent from RAM. Processor uses this memory to keep results of most used processes. Affects process speed, more space means faster results.

5- Check energy consuming rates of the laptop you are going to buy, be sure cooling system is enough to keep processor cool enough. Nobody wants an overheating laptop.
