With advent of social media creating buzz and hype anything and everything is so easy now. The news travels as fast as the fire in the forest. The Internet and the social networks have made the world a much smaller place. Social media is an endless space there will always be someone or the other who would be talking something of your interest and it could be positive as well as negative. This gives you an opportunity to raise your brand awareness and talk about your products. Even this is a form of marketing known as viral marketing. Though there is no doubt that there is no better a tool than email marketing when you want effectiveness and result but there is also no denying the fact that social media is what give you the buzz. So why not use them both simultaneously to increase your visibility and gather all the attention you can to promote your products and services.

1: Include Social Icons in Emails

This is the most prevalent and obvious and of course the most important to include social icons in your email campaigns. All you need to do is provide that little blue button which says “Find us on Facebook”, or even LinkedIn or Twitter on your newsletter. It enables the customer to directly access your social media page. This simply means engaging with your customers and not being persuasive. A user likes your Facebook or other social media page, it automatically become visible and subscriber list management accessible to all the number of his friends.

2: Ask Email Subscribers to Share and Connect

Including social icons is not enough until people are clicking on it. So you can always ask them to also, not all know what action you want them to take when they see them in an email.

3: Send a Dedicated Email Campaign

This is trying vice-versa. Create a dedicated email campaign to urge people to sign up and create a sense of urgency for the same.

4: Provide Incentive

Why would someone simply subscribe to your newsletter and fill in his personal details especially with so much spamming and scamming going around the net. This creates a need to make your newsletter more authentic. And of course everything has a cost. The best way to do it is to provide incentives. This could be in the form of a discount on your products or services or providing a coupon code as most e-tailors does.

5: Promote Email Sign-up Via Social Networks

If you have a strong following on a particular social network, don’t hesitate to ask for new email subscribers via that channel.

6: Build an Email Opt-In Form on Facebook to enable newsletter subscription.

Facebook allows you to embed an email sign-up form. This is great advantage that shouldn’t be missed. So, promote email newsletter through social media for customers who are more than just interested in your brand, and want to make further actions.
