These days the majority of professional landlords have accepted the fact that to effectively manage and grow their business they need good, effective property software. So what should you expect and demand from the property software you use? There is clearly not a ‘one size fits all' software package because businesses differ from one another. Having said that there are some basic needs common to all parts of the rental property sector and these should be at the top of your list when looking for the right product.

It may seem obvious but the key factor is usability. An all singing all dancing report producing wizard of a package is of no use to your business if you and / or your staff have no idea how to use it and how to get the best out of it. Choose one within your technological comfort zone. A well designed package will be user friendly. Choose carefully.

Ask for a demonstration of the product and beforehand think carefully about your technological expertise and what you need and want from the product. You should resist any pressure to rush into a purchase for a product that you are not comfortable with ...
... or confident of using. If a demonstration is not practical or available do your research on-line, from trade magazines etc... Look for independent reviews from respected sources.

Once you have decided on the package that is right for you ensure that there is a post installation support package for you. You may need help and occasionally things can go wrong. Be wary of any package that does not come with a support package. This is an expensive outlay on a tool that is vital to the smooth running of your business. Time is money. If there are issues you will need assistance and quickly. Clearly help is best provided from the designers of the software.

In an ideal world assistance would be available around the clock. Help can be given by email, phone and live chat in this day and age.

The two key elements that are not negotiable are usability and post sales support. Do not settle for anything less from your property management software.

Get better organised today! At Property Portfolio Software we provide property management software and landlord software that are aimed to help landlords and Property Managers. These unique property software solutions cover all the challenges that landlords face and are guaranteed to help you boost your property cash flow.
