Murder is considered to be the cruelest crimes that are committed against any human being. It is said to be an illegal and unlawful killing of a person by a person who is of sound mind. Murder is unlawful killing of one human being by the other. It is one of the most terrible crimes that a person can ever commit. This is reason that the punishment for the person who has committed this crime is serious. In some states this crime is punishable by death while in some it is punishable by life imprisonment.
Definition
Murder is defined as a crime that causes the death of the person or human being. Even if the bodily harm is caused to the person by which he is likely to die and being reckless whether the death ensues or not is called murder. Murder is killing with intent.

Depending upon the state laws and circumstances murder which falls into first, second degree may be chargeable to the person who did not in fact kill but was rather involved in the crime with the other person who in fact killed somebody or someone died because of the crime. Types of Murders:
The types of murders are as below:

First Degree †It is classified as intent to kill.
Second Degree †It is where the person intention was to hurt somebody but results in the death of that somebody.
Depraved Heart murder †It is also called malignant heart murder. This type of murder is little bit complex. Here the person does not intend to kill the other person but unruliness or reckless in the action killed the other person.
Felony murder †In it some one gets killed while the accused was committing some other felony. It is basically dependent of the above first and second degree murder when it comes to punishment.

Penalties for murder:
The penalties in murder depend on the circumstances of each case and from person to person. A person convicted of murder may face a sentence of many years jail or may even face death sentence.
