Most college courses require that students attend several hours in the classroom each week for a semester, obtaining passing scores on quizzes, papers, and exams, and complete any outside studying or required group work. Students often take four or more courses at a time, which can lead to a hectic schedule and little time for family, work, or leisure. Students are often excited to learn about any way they can obtain college credits without having to attend traditional courses. CLEP (College Level Examination Program) allows students to earn college credits toward general education courses by taking computerized exams. CLEP exams offer the benefit of earning college credits and bypassing general education courses by taking examinations in a variety of subjects, such as history, science, and business. Learning some tips about how to best study for CLEP tests can greatly benefit students who wish to earn credits using these valuable exams.

One of the first things you should do is make ...
... sure that you which CLEP test you need to take. First, speak with your college academic counselor to see which CLEP exams you can take in order to obtain credits for the general education courses required for your degree. Next, familiarize yourself with exactly what will be covered on any particular CLEP exam that you will be taking. If you know what is going to be on your CLEP test, it will make studying for the exam much easier. The College Board, the company overseeing CLEP, has a website will be able to provide you with a breakdown of the subjects that will be covered on each CLEP test.

Another important thing to do once you have gathered the information on the CLEP exam is to request a practice CLEP test from the College Board. This practice exam will give you a variety of sample questions that are similar to questions that will appear on the actual CLEP. Students can take the practice CLEP and see how they score in order to see if they need to complete additional studying. If you have a strong background in the subject area and earn a high score on the practice exam, you may be ready to take the CLEP without additional studying!

Once you determine whether or not you need to complete additional studying, you can determine which preparation method may work best for you. You might consider using an inexpensive online CLEP test preparation website. This way you can take study for your exam using the questions provided by the online system and at the same familiar yourself with the computerized testing method you will have on the actual CLEP test. Although online CLEP test preparation systems work well for many students, some students still prefer to use printed resources, such as study guides and college textbooks, to prepare for their CLEP. Students should examine the amount of time they have to devote to studying, their financial resources, their learning style, and learning needs when determining a CLEP test preparation method.

Another important thing to remember when studying for a CLEP exam is that you should break you studying in shorter segments, such two hour blocks rather than one long block of six hours. This way you are not cramming all the information in at once and you can focus better on the specifics of your CLEP test. Studying each day for a few days or a few weeks will help you quickly learn the information. If you take a break from studying longer than a few days, you will likely forget much of the information you already learned.

Always remember to take a calm approach to both studying and actually taking the CLEP. Study diligently and thoroughly and have a clear goal and plan written down. Do not study the night before the exam; rather, relax and go to bed early. Be sure you eat a balanced breakfast the morning of the CLEP test. Read each question and answer thoroughly but do not spend too much time on any one question on the actual exam. Use the process of elimination to rule out answers on all questions, but especially on questions in which you do not know the answer. Even if you are not successful the first time you attempt a CLEP, know that you can retake the exam in six months. The experience of testing will improve your test-taking skills and help you know how to best prepare for the next exam.
Hopefully, though, you will be successful the first time you attempt a CLEP. Passing even one CLEP can give you confidence that CLEP exams may not be as daunting as they may seem.

About Us :- Once students experience the numerous time and money saving benefits of CLEP, they will want to repeat the process with a different exam. After all, who was ever harmed by a CLEP test addiction?
