Prevention is better than cure, is an old adage you all must have heard from your elders. This is, indeed true! Instead of getting into ailments, try and avoid certain food products and eat fibre rich food in order to stay away from constipation. Simple, yet cost-effective tips are here to unfold before you. Read the article carefully and stay away from bowel problems.

Culprit of such a bowel problem is due to a combination of a high fat and low fiber diet. High fat food products include whole milk, cheese, butter and other dairy products and not consuming enough fruits and green leafy vegetables, salads, green grams etc. Make certain adjustments in the diet you take in order to stay away from any problems.

Shift from a high fat milk to low fat, skimmed milk. You can also use soy milk as an alternative. These have enzymes in them which enhance digestion in your body. This tip can be used with your child too. Secondly, eat bananas which is good for digestion. Avoid ice cream along with other dairy products. If you are reducing dairy products because of constipation, be sure to find an alternative source of calcium, such as calcium fortified orange juice.

Eat fibre rich foods such as bran, wheat bread, corn, oats which are low in fat but are high in proteins and minerals at the same time it is good for bowel problems. Red or boiled rice is good for health instead of white rice. Not to forget is the level of fluid you take every day which must be high. Increase the intake of fluid each day, especially water and apple, pear or prune juice. If you can try drinking barley water in order to add fibre and water to your body's digestive system! Do not resort to laxatives to soften your stools instead natural methods are the safest and you don't get addicted to any kind of laxatives. The food you eat also have nutritional value. What is the nutritional value present in laxatives? It is nil, so avoid it and the addiction to it!
