Dinner parties are hosted for various reasons and are common around the world. More so, with professional catering services widely available, they are easier to organise than ever. If you are not confident in the kitchen, you can hire a private caterer to take care of the food for you. This removes the stress of having to prepare and cook all of the dishes yourself and leaves you with extra time to carry out other tasks in organising the event. You can impress your guests with top quality cuisine cooked by the experts, making your event one to remember.
There are many different types of catering options for dinner parties. More often than not, a sit down meal is the norm and you can choose how many courses you would like to serve. A starter, main course, and desserts are ideal, although you can include several smaller courses instead if you wish. A cheeseboard and coffee are optional extras at the end as well and can finish off a great evening perfectly.
Cocktail parties and other similar events where networking or mingling is the main focus include canapés and finger foods as these are ideal for casual occasions. ...
... This allows guests to snack and choose what they would like to eat without disrupting their conversations. A buffet is another idea as it lets guests pick and choose what and how much they would like to eat. This may include sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, meats, fruit, cakes and a chocolate fountain, just to name a few ideas, but it can totally vary depending on what you opt for. You may even want to decide upon a theme or type of cuisine to make your event a bit more interesting.
Dinner party starters are important as they are the first course of a meal and should set a decent standard for the rest of the dishes. Something light is ideal, perhaps a soup or a salad. Fish is also quite popular. It is a good idea to have a vegetarian option for those who do not eat meat for whatever reason though. You can have a choice or two starters for example so guests can choose, otherwise perhaps just a vegetarian dish if you only wish to go for one. Stuffed mushrooms or peppers are other interesting ideas.
The starter is followed by a main course and finally a dessert. Having both healthy and more indulgent options for desserts is recommended as guests can choose depending on their dietary requirements or personal preference. A fruit salad and a chocolate cake could be a good combination to offer. Other ideas include cheesecake, profiteroles, sorbet or tiramisu. Make sure to choose a top quality caterer to prepare the perfect dishes for your party.
