Diet For Fat Loss: The Untold Truth
When most people think of going on a diet, their first worry is to "lose weight".
Instead of looking at how much you weigh on a scale, you instead need to focus on a diet for fat loss.
Mull over this
A person weighing 185 pounds can still have a fit, lean, and muscular body, whereas a person weighing only 115 pounds can be flabby, soft, and out of shape.
Just take a look at your levels of lean muscle mass and you'll see the difference between a diet for weight loss and a diet for fat loss.
Muscle weighs more than fat, but it helps our bodies look fit and trim.
So, someone who weighs in at 140 pounds and has a lot of lean muscle mass will look better and thinner in their clothes, as opposed to someone who weighs the same on the scale, but is fatter and has less lean muscle.
That's why you need to ensure that you focus on a diet for fat loss instead of trying to lose weight as traditional diets encourage you to do.
Even though you might only lose a few pounds per week if you diet correctly, the truth is that you're swapping out your light but ugly fat for heavy but attractive ...
... lean muscle mass.
Unlike fat, your new muscles will help burn more calories without dieting because muscles have the ability to burn more calories than fat ever could.
So you will not only look better and fit into smaller clothing, but your body will now burn more calories than it did when you had more fat and less muscle.
So why don't traditional diets work?
It's because they focus on severely restricting caloric intake in order to slim down quickly, but many times these restrictive diets cause you to lose muscle mass and water weight instead of fat.
At the end of the month, even though you may have lost weight, you will still be as soft and flabby as before.
Plus, since you are not increasing your muscle mass and allowing your body to naturally burn more calories, you will have to continue this restrictive diet indefinitely in order to keep the weight off.
If you simply diet for fat loss while working on a steady muscle building program, you can lose fat and maintain your weight long term without ridiculous dieting.
Honestly, not everyone can sustain a difficult diet over the long term, and once that weight comes back, it comes back with a vengeance.
You may even end up weighing more than before since your body has been starved and will now want to hold on to more calories as fat in order to be prepared for the next 'famine.'
In the end, your body composition will only get better and you will look better when you diet for fat loss instead of weight loss.
The only way to get permanent results that last long is through a diet for fat loss.
